Short Week!

I hope everyone enjoyed a restful, relaxing Columbus Day weekend!

This afternoon, the Blended Learning Team will participate in a "Train the Trainers" workshop with a Google Apps for Education Specialist. This training will help us develop the most Beacon/Founders friendly workshop at next week's early-release PD day on Google Classroom.

On Wednesday, we have department meetings. Please take a few minutes to discuss your draft SLOs and ways in which you may be able to support each other.

Happy Tuesday!

Murphy's Memo

We have experienced several issues with students' escalating behavior including foul language and a general lack of respect toward peers and staff. Please remind all students that Beacon kids will always be held to a higher standard and should always remember these three key things: Respect to Faculty & Staff, Respect to Peers and Respect to Self. This is at the heart of what we all do. We expect more from ours students they should expect more from each other.

Starting today, any Beacon students who have a sibling at Founders will need to pick their brother/sister up AT FOUNDERS. The middle school students will no longer come over to Beacon and wait for them.

Hickey's Headlines

Beacon's underclassman won First Place People's Choice at the Providence Street Painting Festival! Congratulations to Anna Hughes and her crew! All Beacon artists truly shined at this event. I'm so proud to be a part of Beacon.

Also, I'd like to take a moment to welcome Brittany Dyer, our new choral director for both Beacon and Founders, and Leland Baker, our new Jazz Band Director. Beacon's extra-curricular music program will be held Monday afternoons. It will be "Music Mondays" at Beacon!
