'Your talent is God’s gift to you.

What you do with it, is your gift back to God.' ~Leo Buscaglia.

Let us pray,

Father, You are creator of our world and of each one of us.

First Communion Masses

It was a special time for many of our Year Four students last Saturday evening, Sunday morning as they received their First Communion. This Saturday, 21 and Sunday, 22 August is the final two of our four First Communion Masses.

Our family brings us to the door of the Church, to be welcomed as one of God’s Family through the Sacrament of Baptism, where we can be supported and helped to grow. We are drawn closer to God and one another in His family, when we are reconciled through the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Eucharist means ‘thanksgiving’ and when we participate in the Eucharist we give thanks for all Jesus has done for us. We are united to Gods’ Son Jesus and made spiritually strong, when we receive His Body and Blood and the Sacrament of the Eucharist.

We pray for the children along with their families and teachers during this special time. Please keep the First Communicants and their families in your prayers.

Book Week

This annual event highlights the importance of reading, and draws on the joy of stories and creativity of books. Book Week is about encouraging students to read; learn about new books; to share favourite writers and illustrators; to look again at old favourite books in maybe a different way; to take time to be alone and just read. Our annual Character Parade is planned for Tuesday, 24 August. Mrs Simmonds is busily preparing for a great week. A reminder that the P&F will be running the Book Fair in the library next week.

Just a friendly reminder, 3 Year Old Kindy places for 2022 is filling really fast. Please make sure you have completed an enrolment form for 3 Year Old Kindy and returned this to the office ASAP.

Our 60, 4 Year Old Kindy places for 2022 are now full with a waitlist of 21 families wanting to enrol at St Luke’s.

A reminder to families who have their child currently in 4 Year Old Kindy that the bubble classes will continue for Pre Primary next year and then Year One onwards. A new classroom for Year 1 and then Year 2 will commence next year to accommodate the three classes for the start of 2023. The new Principal, once announced, will also honour this arrangement.

Father's Day

On Friday, 3 September our school will honour our superstar Dads, Grandfathers and significant male figures in our children’s lives with a cooked bacon and egg breakfast from 7.30am. After a well-deserved breakfast we invite our dads to visit their child’s classroom before returning for a Fathers’ Day assembly. The P&F are actively looking for mums who are available to help out in the morning from 6.30-7.00am. If you are available please let a member of the P&F know. I look forward to seeing you all there.

God Moments!

  • Seeing staff enjoy all the fun of Wellness Week!

  • Observing Mrs Humphries and Mr Plint deliver excellent presentations at our PD Monday.
  • Seeing children keeping our school clean and tidy by picking up rubbish that was not theirs.
  • Seeing a t-shirt that said "Mrs McIntyre & Mrs Billi survived 100 days of me!"

North Coastal Curriculum Conference

On Monday, staff members from St Luke's CPS, Whitford CPS, Padbury CPS, and Liwara CPS joined together for our North Coastal Curriculum Conference. The conference enabled great collaboration between the schools and the opportunity to reflect on the five teacher practices for effective student achievement. Additionally, we had the opportunity to attend various concurrent sessions, two of which were presented by our own Mrs Renita Humphries and Mr Bruce Plint. The CEWA student support team also presented on barriers to learning and how to assist students to overcome these barriers.

Year 3 Coding/Computer Programming Incursion with EDGYX!

The Year 3 classes had such a fun day on Wednesday designing their own games! EDGYX came to St Luke's to bring us an innovative and exciting STEM Workshop. The students were engaged with new coding and programming skills. When creating games, they were able to search for characters, backgrounds and input movements through coding. They let their creativity shine and the end results were fantastic!

Letting Their Light Shine at St Luke's!

In the office, we just love having daily visits from our amazing, gorgeous and generously spirited students here at St Luke's. This week, we even were given some Gingerbread Men who escaped that sneaky fox in the story ... and found their way into our office! Mmmm they were delicious thank you, Pre-Primary!
