Royals of the Month
Valentine's Day Parties
1. You can choose the time of day that you complete in your classroom and the format of your party. This can be as simple as passing out cards or more elaborate with the typical crafts, games, ect.
What do you need to do?
1. Please communicate with parents in your classrooms what your plans are. This may include what they should send in (cards, bags/boxes, treats, ect).
I just ask that you do maintain a celebration in your classroom on this day, February 13th. It was a compromise with the Parents' Club to move control of this party to the classroom teachers with the assumption that we still do activities to celebrate Valentine's Day.
BIST Tracking
If a student has 3 or more moves in a month, this should trigger a grade level PLC conversation and planning session for that student if you haven't already. We will be using BIST more in RTI planning meetings as well.
BIST Self Evaluations
- You will be receiving a PINK self-evaluation in your mailboxes. Please complete these and turn them in to me by Thursday, February 13. These are non-evaluative and the purpose of turning them in to me is simply for me to compile building level data that we will share at the February faculty meeting. I recognize that staff are all at different points of implementation and have received different levels of training. The evaluations will help us improve overall and give feedback to our team. I will return these to you at that meeting as we will reflect on them individually and as a team at that point.
BIST Training Take-A-Ways
- When developing behavior plans for students, we need to take into account the supports we provide to the staff too.
- Maintaining grace and accountability with students means they have to "Clean it up where they mess it up." Having students recognize their mistakes and make it right is a vital part to the BIST philosophy.
- As educators, we always have the responsibility to reflect on our professional practices and how our behaviors and strategies impact our students.
- Being an "All Kids" building means you can be ok with seeking and accepting help for yourself and your students when you need it.
- There are 5 reasons for a safe seat move: stop disruption, allow the teaching to continue, increase focus, increase perseverance and as a student self-referral.

I would bookmark/star this so you can access it when you need it. Please note this has items like updated classroom fund balances, the daily transportation list, the master calendar and more.
Positive Office Referrals
You are welcome to celebrate the successes of students at any point this year. You can do so by filling out this FORM or by simply sending me an email that details they're specific success or positive behavior. They will get to ring the bell, sign the wall and have a selfie taken to be displayed outside the office. In most cases, I also call home to share the good news with their parents.
Maintenance Requests
This helps George, Nancy, and Tom Grimm track building and district requests.
You can ask verbally for a request, but also be sure to send the email. It can be as simple as "Please move desk to stage in my classroom" or "Air Conditioning is leaking."
