A WORD TO THE WISE...
*LABOR DAY WEEKEND - Enjoy your three day weekend! It is a much needed break as we have hit the floor running this year. Be safe while making memories!
*JAYDA BABCOCK - Make welcome the newest member of the Owl Family. Jayda Babcock joined us this week as an instructional para. She has been learning the lay of the land the past 3 days but will begin working with small groups and RtI on Tuesday.
*STAFF PARKING - Please make sure you have your staff parking sign in your car when you park starting Tuesday. I'm going to have the high school send their parking lot lady over to help start monitoring as I think we have some "sneakers" taking up some of our spots. With that said, if you get here to park in the back and there are no more spots, please move to the lot on the other end of the building by fourth grade.
*ANNOUNCEMENTS - We will continue them at 7:55 for the time being with us ending no later than 8:03 a.m.
*JEANS TUESDAY - When Monday is a holiday, Tuesday is the new Monday.
*ATTENDANCE - Our attendance took a dip this week. I realize that we have had a stomach virus going through. Remember, if you have a student who is absent more than one day (in a row), we would like for you to contact the parent and document your contact in View It.
* CANVAS - Impressive that we all have our Canvas pages up and running. The links to them are now on the Oak Ridge webpage by your name. Also all the names and grades are up to date! If parents have a Parent Access account, they can log into their account and click the Canvas button and see your pages.
*WALKIE TALKIES - We are working on ensuring walkie talkies are working and ready to go. We will be getting one to every team leader. We will talk more about them in team leader meeting!
*TEAM HUDDLES have been great so far. I am enjoying seeing your smiling faces each morning and the enthusiasm you all have as you share your most exciting moment for the school year so far. Specials and Special Ed, we do yours Tuesday and Wednesday. If we can meet in the hallway about 7:25, that would be great so we can share quickly and get to our posts. I'll have someone watching just in case we run a few minutes long.
*TEAM HUDDLE QUESTION FOR THOUGHT - Share one exciting thing that has happened at school since day one!
*FIRE DRILL - Great job on the first fire drill. Took us about 4 1/2 minutes to empty and/or ensure that the building was empty and all students accounted for.
*GT MAINTENANCE FROM 17-18 SCHOOL YEAR - If you haven't turned in your certificate from last year for your maintenance hours, Kara needs those by Friday. She will be contacting you individually Friday if it is still missing.
*504 MEETINGS - Invitation to 504 meetings will be sent via Outlook Calendar. Please accept with receipt when you receive the invite. This will let Kara know that you have accepted, will attend and it puts it on your calendar.
