These summaries are not meant to replace minutes. The minutes for each meeting are approved and posted after the next regularly scheduled meeting. We hope these summaries provide some basic information and context around the reports, presentations and action items. Abraham Lincoln School students presented information about a student-led Walk for Water Experience to raise awareness about the clean water crisis in Africa and also raise funds for building a water well in Africa. They had over 500 people attend the Walk for Water. They also held a number of other events and fundraisers to raise money to build a water well in Africa. Dr. Gordon and the Board members asked the students questions about the work they are doing to help in Africa. Dr. Gordon praised the students and presented them with inspirational words about their leadership at the school and their learning through this project. Dr. Gordon also thanked Principal Schwiekhofer for her leadership and giving students space to grow and learn.

Dr. Gordon introduced Hadley teacher Frank Tomaszkiewicz who celebrated fellow teacher Teresa Shea earning her National Board Certification. A video was presented highlighting Mrs. Shea and her work to complete this accomplishment.

Dr. Gordon asked Laurel O’Brien to give an update on the Special Education Strategic

Plan Committee. She shared the topics discussed at the last meeting and the process
