February Recap!!
A lot happened last month: We completed our Strong Minds assessment (we scored very well) as a Tier I school and we had our very popular annual Snow Day on Feb. 3.
Mark your calendar for a FREE Conscious Discipline Parent Training Workshop
We have invited Ms. Georgette Hugger back to discuss how you can incorporate Conscious Discipline (CD) at home. This workshop will cover the basics of Conscious Discipline and how to use the same language and strategies at home with your child that our teachers use at school. The workshop will take place on Thursday, April 6 from 5:00-6:00pm. Please plan to attend. Our last CD workshop received great feedback. A sign-up sheet will be posted soon in the front office. Be sure to reserve your spot.
Reminder: Our Lending Library is now open in our Gallery Room
Please visit our new Lending Library and take any book home to read with your child and replace it with any book that you are done reading. We are very excited to add this new feature.

Teacher Feature - Ms. Carmen and Ms. Thais
We are featuring two teachers this month Ms. Carmen and Ms. Thais. They shared a wonderful presentation titled "Healthy Cooking the Reggio Way" for our families on February 28. This presentation was filled with great ideas about how to include your child in the cooking experience. They discussed how important it is to include your children in the whole cooking process at an early age. You can do this by shopping together to pick out fruits and vegetables and talking about the color and shapes of each and counting how many you purchase. Then when you get home you can give them a step stool and they can help to wash and dry the fruits and vegetables and make fun snacks out of them. One of my favorite snack ideas was to take chocolate chips, popcorn, raisins, and cranberries and mix them together into Ziploc bags for a healthy "homemade" treat anytime. If you missed this "yummy" workshop they are going to do a repeat of it in May.
