Why is protein the most essential nutrient?
Protein is the most essential nutrient for many reasons. Without protein, you wouldn't have nearly the amount of energy you need. Also, protein helps to build and repair tissues/enzymes/hormones which are three essential things your body needs. Protein is a neccessity to athletes and hardworkers because it is essential to building the muscle that helps you succeed in what you do. Protein in our muscles account for 40-45% of our body pool, and if you're looking to improve your health and fitness composition, you might want to consider increasing your daily protein intake to do so.
