Our January's Honor the Castle theme is "Finishing the Semester Strong". This week’s Mindset Monday Message (1-18-21) states that “Starting strong is good, finishing strong is epic".

Hello RMS Knights and Families
Our staff look forward to our week twenty connections remotely and face to face through synchronous learning with our Knights. Please note on Thursday, 1/21/2021 and Friday, 1/22/21, all of our students will be connecting virtually through our teachers' GoToMeeting links according to the speed day schedule. In observance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday, our Knights and FPS staff have no school on Monday, 1/18/2021.
Our Knights will be connecting either face to face or virtually based on their mode of connection based on our blue and gold calendar. For example- Tuesday, January 19th is a Gold Day. On Tuesday, our Face-to-Face students will be at RMS from 8:05am-11:35am for hour 1, 2, 3, and seminar. On Tuesday, our virtual students will connect with their seminar teacher through their GoToMeeting Link at 11:00am and connect at 12:03pm until 2:50pm for Hours 4/5, 6, 7.
On the days that students are at RMS, I want to remind our families and students to:
*Complete our Fraser Public Schools/RMS health assessment each day your students is at RMS https://form.jotform.com/202375180794156
*Double check your bus stop and route number (if an in district resident RMS student)
*Have your iPad with you each day you are at RMS.
*Enter at our main office doors for 7th graders and door #37 for our 8th Graders (The doors opposite of our flag pole) on the Garfield side of RMS at 7:45am. Hand Sanitizer dispensers are on the walls of our vestibule and our main office/attendance office.
*A bagged breakfast will be available for any interested Knight at their designated grade level door.
* Students are welcome to bring a backpack or cinch bag (No locker use available at this time).
*Our school day starts at 8:05am.
*Hand free drinking fountains are available for bottle refill (Locations of these hand free drinking fountains are in the middle of the hallway on the Garfield side of the 7th and 8th grade hallways. Another hand free drinking fountain is located at the beginning of our Selectives hallway.
*A bagged lunch will be available for any interested Knight at the main office entrance door at dismissal time.
*Masks must be worn while in the building and on RMS premises.
Picture Retake Day
Picture Retake Day will be Friday, January 22, from 12:00pm – 3:00pm.
- We will have 2 cameras set up in the gym and will welcome families at 15 minute intervals during this time.
- Please sign up for a time using this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c054eacad2da0fe3-rmsschool1
- This date is available for anyone who did not get their picture taken in October or needs to have their photo retaken. ID cards will be printed with the new picture during this time.
- Students need to bring the original picture packet with them if they are getting a retake. Picture packets that did not get picked up from the October picture day are in the Main office.

In an effort to maintain our high standards of the health and safety for those in attendance we ask that you do the following:
- Arrive during the designated window you signed up for on the link above.
- Please use Main Parking Lot off of Garfield road.
- Enter at door 37 near the gymnasium (front of school).
- Wear a mask and follow social distancing guidelines set in place by the school.
RMS Weekly Spirit Days
Mindset Monday(s) - Each Monday, we will share a quote with our students and staff related to the Honor the Castle theme for the month.
B.O.W.tie Tuesday(s) - Dress for success Tuesday. Wear a bowtie or professional business wear. B.O.W. - Being optimistic wins. On Tuesdays, you will see Mr Julian in a bowtie. It is a symbol for remembering that "Being optimistic wins".
RMS/FPS Wednesday(s) - Wear your organization, club, sport and/or RMS (or previous elementary) t-shirts.
College Thursday(s) - On Thursdays, we encourage our students to wear their favorite college wear.
Fraser Friday(s), Blue/Gold - On Fridays, we encourage our students to show their Fraser/Richards Middle School pride by wearing blue and/or gold.

RETURN OF MS BOYS BASKETBALL SET FOR JANUARY 19TH
If your student is a member of the MS Boys’ Basketball program the following practice date and time have been set aside beginning Tuesday, January 19th for your return.

3:15pm – 5:00pm (gymnasium)
8th Grade Boys Basketball Team
4:00pm – 6:00pm (gymnasium)

THE START OF MS GIRLS COMPETITIVE CHEER
Tryouts beginning Tuesday, January 19th.
