Game Plan for a Winning Season
Danville South Elementary
A New Season
Welcome to a new season at South Elementary! I am delighted to welcome you back and kick off the year with some important information to help us get the ball rolling. This year our theme will wrap around....you guessed it...a winning season. South is a place where we Work hard, Interact with respect, and Never stop learning! We WIN!!! I'm planning to infuse this theme during our beginning inservice days, as well as with the students and staff throughout the year. Feel free to utilize any part of this theme in your own class if you'd like.
An All-Star Line Up
Rookie
Jon Wilson joins our team and will show off his mad teaching skills in third grade. He received his training from IWU and is pumped and ready for a great year. His experience as a resident assistant will aide him in keeping the rest of the third grade team under control.
Rookie
Kayla Wegner also joins our team and her MVP attitude will help contribute to her third grade team's success. She received her training from Indiana University and can hardly contain her excitement. Put her in coach, she's ready to play!
Free Agent
This summer we drafted free agent, Megan Reid. Megan is an experienced teacher from Boone Grove, Indiana and had received her training from Valparaiso University and Ball State. Her knowledge in the field will be quite an asset to our team and it will be awesome to watch her bust out the learning throughout the year.
Rookie
Able to break down some phonemes and annunciate like no other is our new SLP, Alyssa Kroll. Alyssa is a Danville H.S. Grad who has decided to come back to her alma mater to play with this winning team. Alyssa has spent time training at Ball State and has been using her skills while working with students and adults this past year.
Rookie
Don't be fooled by this rookie's name...Hayley Sweet! She may be full of sweetness in her personality, but has some fierce creative teaching skills in the art room! No project is too big...our kids will be immersed in creative genius all year long. Hayley received her training from Indiana University and is excited to put her knowledge to work.
Free Agent
Adding to our on-site medical staff is Katherine Lee. Headaches, sore throats, and the occasional scraped knee doesn't frighten this player. Katherine has been hanging out in places such as the Mayo clinic tending to the sick and healing the wounded. We are thrilled to have her as part of our team.
First Team Meeting
We will have our first certified staff meeting on August 11th. Details of this day will be forth coming. On August 12, our entire team will huddle up in the "Dug Out" (formally known as "The Meeting Place.") Meeting time will be at 8:00 a.m. sharp and attire should be casual (shorts, jeans acceptable) and shirt to include one of your favorite sports teams. Each team member is asked to bring a picture of themselves participating in a team sport from their childhood. Keep your picture secret, we will be using this for an activity. Lunch will be provided on the 12th and will include ballpark fare!
