Book Bytes
November 2014
For what are we thankful?
We are thankful for curious kids who write on walls, answering questions of the day, a one-stop-shop for all of your project needs, a 3-D printing workshop, and as always, new books.
What's new??
3-D printing workshop for ornaments
Students were introduced to Tinkercad, a 3-D
design software for the Makerbot 3-D printer. The ornaments will be displayed on the library Christmas tree.
Write on the wall
From answering the question-of-the-day to working math problems, students are enjoying writing on the library walls (well, 2 walls, anyway). Come by and give us your John Hancock.
School got you stressed out?
For one day only, Monday, December 15th, students (and teachers!) may come by the library for some de-stress playtime with Bessie.
Coming to a team meeting near you...
Planning a research project? We'll put all of the best library resources at your students' fingertips. How, you ask, could you do this? LibGuides, of course! Look for an in-person introduction in an upcoming team meeting. See below for an example of what we can do for you.
Exciting new books for boys
"Ten stories guaranteed to be even bigger, funnier, and stranger than fiction." (back cover) From hunting for tarantulas in the Amazon to canoeing down an Alaskan river, these stories are stranger than fiction.
"As temperatures drop and food stores run out, Victoria must find a way to save them all in this high-stakes, high-adventure middle grade novel of endurance, hope, and finding your way back home." (book jacket)
"A boy in a small town who has a different way of seeing. A curious girl who doesn't belong. A mysterious notebook. A missing father. A fire. A stranger. A death. These are some of the things you'll find within the danger box." (back cover)
