Genoa Comet Varsity Competition Cheer Team
Friday you will see about 20 girls walking around GHS in their cheerleading uniforms, even though there is no game. These girls are a part of the Genoa High School Varsity Competition cheer team and they will be competing in Columbus this Saturday!! Genoa hasn't sent a team to compete in cheer for about three years. In addition, this group is the FIRST group to compete in the stunting category in many, many years!!
These athletes have been working hard on their routine since early August. The routine is two minutes and thirty seconds of tumbling, jumping, stunting, all out ENERGYand some super sassy choreography. You'd be surprised to see what these girls are capable of! They are true athletes and some of the hardest workers I've had the pleasure to coach.
If you see any of the girl, please wish them lots of luck. A good handful of them have never competed before, so they can use the boost!!

Shakespeare in Love
Opening night has finally arrived! Genoa High School’s Fall production of Shakespeare in Love is this Friday, November 22 and Saturday, November 23 at 7pm and Sunday, November 24 at 2pm.
The play follows well-known playwright and actor William Shakespeare as he struggles to find inspiration to write Romeo and Juliet and falls in love with his muse. Over forty students have been involved in preparing for this production. Costuming has been working hard making beautiful articles of clothing, checking multiple designs and combinations to find the most time-period appropriate. Stage Crew has designed and built several set pieces including a tavern, play house, and boat. Meanwhile, the actors have mastered Renaissance dancing and learned their lines!
See the show at Genoa High School auditorium with a purchase of a ticket at the door: $4 for students and $6 for adults.
