Read Across America Day
Looking ahead to the new year, Kindergarten to 5th grade students will be celebrating Read Across America Day on March 2, 2022. Students will have the opportunity to choose a book that represents their culture or family history. The students can choose to dress up as a person from that book and if able, donate a copy of the book to their classroom library. We hope to add to current classroom libraries so they can be even more robust and reflective of our diverse community. Reading diverse and inclusive books in the months to come might help your student find a book that has people with whom they identify. You might even find one here on Read Across America's December booklist. Looking for even more diverse books? Click here.

Fundraising
As we close out the calendar year, thank you all for your support of GLOBE. To date we’ve raised approximately 87% of our $300,000 unrestricted fundraising goal through donations to the Annual Fund and GLOBE Trot. We need your help to reach our fundraising goal this school year. All funds we raise from Annual Fund support the purchase of school technology (Chromebooks, iPads, laptops and software) and curriculum materials needed for our students and teachers. Click here to donate today.
The GLOBE Academy, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt organization (EIN: 27-1366277). Your donation is tax deductible to the extent permitted by law, so make sure to get your donation in by December 31 to receive your donation benefits for 2021!
GLOBE Sports
Tennis tryouts
6th, 7th and 8th grade boys and girls tennis team tryouts will be held today (December 15) and tomorrow (December 16) at Leslie Beach Tennis Club from 4:00pm until 6:00pm.
If you are interested in playing in the spring, it's vital that you make it to the tryouts. We ask that students attend at least one of the days (preferably both) if you are interested and your schedule allows. There will be two more opportunities in 2022.

Covid Corner
Vaccination survey
As we continue to adapt to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic landscape, we would like to determine how many of our students are fully vaccinated. This will allow us to determine which students may not have to quarantine if they are exposed to SARS-CoV-2. Additionally, understanding the vaccination coverage in our community will help us to make informed decisions about sporting events and meal time locations for spring semester. To learn more and to notify us, click here.
Vaccinations for 5-11yr olds - Frequently Asked Questions
A FAQ sheet has been compiled which addresses some of the most common questions sent in regarding Covid-19 vaccinations for the 5-11yr age group. You can view it here.
