Spring Vacation

I hope you all have a chance to enjoy some of this beautiful spring sunshine with your families. Get outside and make some great memories this spring. Look for sundogs like the one here that Mrs. Hamman captured on the playground this week.

See you on Monday, March 20th after spring break.

IditaRead, Get Those Reading Minutes

Dear Families,

To encourage reading and in honor of the Iditarod, Shaw is holding a school wide “Idita-READ.” Students can log minutes read outside of the classroom on our Idita-READ reading log. For each 20 minutes read your child may color in one paw print. The class will work together to move their classroom dog sled around the school’s Idita-READ track toward the finish line!

Minutes read as a class gets the classroom dog sled moving to the next checkpoint. Minutes vary by grade level. This is a classroom competition so all our reading minutes count together!

Let’s encourage our children to keep reading strong…MUSH on Super Sundog Readers!

See you on the trail!

Ms. Denny ALS Battle

As you know, Shaw librarian, Ms. Denny, is battling ALS. There's a flyer below regarding an event this coming Sunday, March 12th to help raise funds to support her medical journey.

Thank You Arien and Family

A huge shoutout to former Shaw Sundog student, Arien and her family for volunteering their time to bring their sled dogs for the Shaw community to enjoy. There were lots of smiling faces during the sled dog rides.

Arien has been very successful in the sport of mushing where she competes against much older participants and always holds her own. She and her family encourage anyone interested in the sport of mushing to get in touch with a local kennel.

Thank you Sanderson family for contributing to such a great night and for being lifelong Sundogs!

End of Day Protocols

The end of the school day has a lot going on. Please understand we may not be able to get your child a pass if you call to change transportation after 3:00pm.

Additionally, we will not call into classrooms to pull students for early pick-up between 3:30-3:45; too chaotic of a time. Again, thank you of your cooperation and understanding with us.
