Outdoor Lab is coming up soon for 6th Graders!
Have you filled out the consent form yet? Outdoor Lab is one of those unforgettable trips that all sixth graders in Jeffco take. Some of our teachers were Jeffco students, and they went, too! Here is what one teacher, Dr. Bill Graves, High School Science, had to say:
I went as a student to Mt. Evans (back in the dark ages, probably '78 or '79!). February. I remember it was cold. Loved all of the hikes, star gazing, orienteering. Was nervous about being away and communal living, but it all worked out well and was a great experience for me.
Parents, were you Jeffco students? Do you have an Outdoor Lab experience you can share? Please email: cindy.shapiro@jeffco.k12.co.us so we can put it in our newsletter!
Outdoor Lab Information Night!
For Parents of Sixth Graders: Last night, we had our Parent Information Night about Outdoor Lab. Thank you to those who attended! We appreciate your interest, time, and questions. For those who were unable to attend, please take a look at this slideshow and this video for more information.
All parents/guardians of Sixth Graders: Please make sure to fill out this consent form so that your student may join us on the trip! This form is important because it helps our team know how to prepare for your student’s amazing experience.
Also, if your student has medications (over-the-counter or prescription), please fill out this medication form so that our nurse can begin preparing for your student’s trip.
Remember, our trip is from Oct 31-Nov . It is four days, three nights. It’s a trip students will always remember!
Sixth Grade and High School Leader Social: At JCRL (1505 S. Pierson St, Lakewood, CO 80232): Wednesday, October 11 – during Advise! Please join us for breakfast treats, some community-building games and activities, and to make your nametag! Parents: The Social is a perfect opportunity for you to speak directly with our nurse, Ms. Erika Townsend, AND to turn in any medications (over-the-counter OR prescription) that your student will need while on the trip.
