Clear To Go! App Information
As you may recall from the District’s earlier communications, the Royal Oak Schools will begin using a new, user-friendly health and wellness software called Clear To Go!™ for students to complete their daily health screening. Parents/Guardians with children participating in in-person instruction, club/activities and/or athletics will be required to screen daily for COVID-19 symptoms or exposure.
At this point, you should have received an email from Clear Support (Subject: Your child is being asked to screen) for you to set up your child's account. We ask families to set up accounts shortly after receiving the email to ensure students are ready for their first day of in-person instruction.
Please click on this link for step-by-step instructions on how to set up your account once you receive your email. The entire setup process will take less than five minutes.
NOTE: Students who will not be returning for in-person instruction and/or activities will not need to complete a daily health screening and can disregard this email.
If you need support or have questions, please contact the main office at 248-288-3100.
Here is a video that explains how to use the Clear to Go! App:
Return to School Health Screening Agreement
For the health and safety of our students, Oakland County Health Division (OCHD) requires students be screened for symptoms of COVID-19 before entering school. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) do not recommend screenings be done by the schools in consideration of time and interruption to education.
Please complete the information in the survey below prior to sending your child to school. By doing so, you indicate your understanding and agreement to perform daily symptom screenings on your child.
By completing this form, I am committing to screening my child daily for the 2020-2021 school year, unless otherwise directed. I also understand that it is my responsibility to call the school immediately if my child is not going to school for potential COVID-19 symptoms.

Black History Month: It Takes all of us to End Racism
Our restorative practice coach has put together a terrific website that will be a great resource for families to engage with in an effort to end racism. Many studies show that children are are ready and able to discuss difficult, and uncomfortable topics like racism. Thank you in advance for taking the time to review the information on the website and to begin to engage in these types of conversations with your children as well.

BLESSINGS IN A BACKPACK
In light of the tough economic times facing our area, we are attempting to help Royal Oak Schools families by making sure that all of our children have enough food. “Blessings in a Backpack” is a program designed to provide students on the free and reduced lunch program with enough food for three meals a day during the weekends. This program, sponsored by Community Foundation of Greater Rochester and the Meijer Corporation, is active in Royal Oak Schools. If you agree to take part in this program during the school year, your child will receive a bag every Friday filled with food for the weekend. While we are remote, the food will be delivered to your home by volunteers.
