Wonderful Triton Staff,

Happy National Disability Awareness Month!!

As we enter March where our Triton Trait is RESILIENCE, there is nothing better than to celebrate those have experienced or continue to endure a disability. March is National Disability Awareness Month. On February 26, 1987 President Ronald Reagan officially declared Proclamation 5613 making March National Disabilities Awareness Month. The proclamation called for people to provide understanding, encouragement and opportunities to help persons with disabilities to lead productive and fulfilling lives. Everyone wants, and deserves, to enjoy life, feel productive and secure. Individuals with disabilities have shown us what resilience is. They and their families embody resilience and they had to learn early on to never give up. So as we begin March, each of us need to take time to honor our ELM students who have disabilities and celebrate their success and emulate their resilience.

PTSO is still seeking members from Staff

The Triton PTSO is looking for more members! The cost is $10. Below is the flyer to sign up. Additionally, they have created a new Facebook page called Triton PTSO. They will be posting events on this page. I look forward to many staff members signing up to become members. So far, they have awarded two teacher grants this year.

Teachers, please follow the information in this section regarding Tuesday's panoramic picture.

Teachers, below is the information for Tuesday's 8th grade panoramic picture. Please note that each period has been decreased to allow for one (1) hour to shoot the entire 8th grade class for the year book. There will not be a bell at 2:25pm; rather, an announcement will be made for 8th grade teachers to take their students to the field. Eighth grade teachers, you are expected to stay on the field with your students and help supervise. If you have a mixed class, please send your 8th graders but stay with your 7th grade students and do one of the optional assignment that has been provided.

Spring Portraits are scheduled for Tuesday, March 8 and Wednesday, March 9. All students are welcome and encouraged to take their Spring Portraits during their PE classes. Students do not need to order up front. Many will, but we also have a lot of student who wait to order after they see how they came out.
