Students Assist Those in Need
Singing Hills Elementary School and Preschool (SHE) recently celebrated their 100th day of school. In years past, this celebration consisted of many games that emphasized counting to 100 by students in the lower grades. This year, the kindergarten teachers decided to perform an act of kindness for a local non-profit organization.
Each grade collected items for CASA, a local volunteer organization that assists children in foster care. Items collected by SHE students and parents included soap, deodorant, crayons, pencils, notebooks, and tubes of chapstick.
During Kindness Week (February 17-21, 2020) the students presented 1,412 donated items to Mr. Jack Cregan of CASA. Mr. Cregan then shared with all students what foster homes are and how the collected supplies will benefit all children in foster homes within the community.
