DONATE TODAY! CARING FOR KIDS WINTER CLOTHING DRIVE END DEC. 12
Christmas at the Caring for Kids clothing closet is right around the corner! This year we are making some important changes to our "boxes" and these changes come with a lot of thought and consideration. Since school started, the clothing closet has had many requests from families and schools for kids in need of clothes, shoes, coats, etc.
In response to this growing need, we want to serve as many kids as possible and stretch our resources as far as we can! As of today, we have over 80 kids on our shopping list and this is before we have a "complete" list.
Please consider partnering with us this year, as we work to bring joy and hope to those families in our community that need some extra help and love.
There are two ways to help…
- Adopt a child – We will assign you a child from our list and you provide the items needed for the box. We are happy to let you have a say in the age and gender of your child, until that is no longer possible. The items we need to provide for each child are as follows:
- Shoes
- Coat (0-11yrs) or Hoody (12 and up)
- Socks
- Underwear
- Age-appropriate toy or gift (as needed)
- Make a monetary donation – If a monetary donation feels like the best option for you, it will go to great use in helping fulfill our commitment to these students.
- Venmo Jen Riffle @Jen-Riffle for direct payment to the Caring for Kids account.
- Mail a check to Caring for Kids, 1727 E Wabash Street, Port Angeles, WA 98362.
Please call, text, or email us and share this information with anyone you know who may be interested in helping us out!

DRY CREEK THANKSGIVING FEAST BRINGS FAMILIES, STAFF, AND STUDENTS TOGETHER
Last week, Dry Creek Elementary School hosted a special Thanksgiving lunch, bringing families together to share gratitude and a delicious meal with our students. We were honored to invite our families to share a meal with their children and our staff.
School district staff served lunch and our friends at Sodexo, River Run Farms, and the WSU Farm to School Program worked diligently to provide our students with a delicious and nutritious lunch.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes out to our families, staff, students, and community members who made this event possible.
