Hearts Aflame For the Love of Christ
Moving Along with Mrs. Maddox
Dear Friends in Christ,
Happy Catholic Schools Week! Below you will find our schedule for next week. Each day we will be celebrating a unique part of our Catholic School. On Tuesday we will be celebrating YOU! Our fantastic parents! Thank you so much for all you do to support our school. Thank you for taking such good care of us!!!! Thank you for your generous gift at the auction, for our yummy "Thankful Thursday" treats, for our random notes of kindness, for our Panera bagels and Old Shawnee Pizza lunches.
We LOVE working with your family!!! What a privilege it is to be a part of the St. Joe community!!!!
On Tuesday, Parent Appreciation Day, our gift to you is a "HOMEWORK FREE NIGHT". Take the night off from asking, "What do you have for homework?" Go get dinner, play a board game, watch a movie together .... just spend time together as family. Enjoy the evening, you deserve it!!!
Thank you again for all you do!!!
With a Grateful Heart,
Jodie Maddox, Principal

Nurse's Notes
We continue to have new cases of influenza and influenza-like illnesses being diagnosed. There have been reports of these illnesses in Kindergarten, 3rd, 4th, 5th and 8th grade. As a reminder, symptoms of influenza can include fever, cough, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, headache, fatigue and occasionally vomiting and diarrhea (more common in children than adults).
Vaccination continues to be the best preventative measure to avoid contracting influenza. If your child has a temperature of 100 degrees Fahrenheit or greater, they must remain home until fever free for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medication. Encourage good hand washing, especially after coughing or sneezing and avoid touching the eyes, nose or mouth to limit the spread of germs. Please report any illness to the school nurse so we can continue to track illnesses and keep the school community informed.

Parking
Please do not park in the Handicapped parking spaces in the morning and walk students into school. If you would like to walk your child to the front door we ask that you park in the west parking lot, and use the cross walk.
St. Joseph is Going Green!
St. Joseph is going green ❤️ A few students have asked Mrs. Maddox if St. Joseph could stop using plastic drinking straws at lunch to help save the environment??? How cool is that!!! Please note, Mrs. Hirt, our cafeteria manager, will not be ordering any new drinking straws once we have finished using the ones we already have. Nice job to our students for taking ownership of our environment.
