Hello Hall Families!
Can you believe the end of the year is only a few weeks away? Teachers and students are still working hard to finish strong. Here are a few important events to put on your calendar for May.
FUN DAY
Location: HMS Track/Field
What: Various activities for students to choose from (kick ball, wiffle ball, frisbee, corn hole, etc.), lunch outside, music.
When: 11:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.
May 22- 6th grade
May 23- 7th grade
May 24- 8th grade
Students will be ineligible to attend if they meet any of the following criteria from
April 24th to the date of the grade level fun day:
• They have been marked truant for any class period.
• They have been in-school suspended.
• They have been out-of-school suspended.
• They have had a Bridge placement.
AWARDS CEREMONIES
All awards ceremonies will be held on May 25th at the following times and locations. All visitors will need to complete a Raptor Fast Pass (link below) in order to attend. Please enter through the gym doors on the east side of the building.
8th grade- 8:30 a.m. in A gym
7th grade- 9:30 a.m. in B gym
6th grade- 10:30 a.m. in A gym

Washington DC Trip Information
In the spring of 2024, current 7th grade students will have the opportunity to travel to Washington DC. Many current 8th grade students are already signed up to make the trip this year. Please see below for information about upcoming meetings regarding both trips.
- Tuesday, May 9th at 6:00 p.m. in the Tison Cafeteria: this is for current 7th grade students and their parents who want more information about the opportunity to attend the trip in the spring of 2024 at the end of their 8th grade year. You will receive a flyer the week before with information about the trip and details about the parent meeting.
- Tuesday, May 23rd at 6:00 p.m. in the Tison Cafeteria: this is for current 8th grades students who are already signed up to travel to Washington DC this year. At this pre-trip meeting, you will learn about departure/return times, weather and packing, expected behavior and get answers to any questions you may have.

Summer Reading at the Weatherford Public Library
The Summer Reading Challenge kick-off is June 1st with sidewalk chalk painting and giant outdoor Jenga.
There are weekly events planned for all ages including animal programs, crafts, science, stories, music and more! Calendars are available at the Weatherford Public Library or online at weatherfordtx.gov/WPLevents.
The national theme for this year’s Summer Reading Challenge is All Together Now. This means everyone is welcome to join in. Kindness, friendship, and unity will be celebrated this summer as we encourage everyone to just “Be You” and share the love of reading.

Please see the attached flyers on Kanga Care FAQs and instructions on how to enroll your student for Kanga Care. Remember, sign up for Kanga Care now if you would like your student to be tested or seen by our PCHD doctor at any point during the school year.

Attendance
*Attendance at the secondary school level is taken every class period and students are held accountable for attending each individual class.

HMS has five 30-minute lunch periods:
- Lunch A: 11:18 - 11:48
- Lunch B: 11:50 - 12:20
- Lunch C: 12:22 - 12:52
- Lunch D: 12:54 - 1:24
- Lunch E: 1:26 - 1:56
- Parents who bring lunch to their student will be required to go to the front office, present their ID, and complete the Student Food Delivery Form. Once the form has been approved, the food will be delivered to the HMS cafeteria during your student's lunch.
- Parents who would like to eat with their student will be required to get a visitor’s pass and eat in a designated area. Other students will not be allowed to eat with you.
- No restaurant delivery services are allowed. Only parents/guardians may deliver lunch to their student.
- Parents may bring food for their student only.
