Mustangs in the Middle : Week of: September 21, 2020
Monday 9/21/2020 - 6th Grade Orientation
Students will be learning the safety procedures and expectations of what it will be like to be a student at SMS. We have tours planned, many team building activities, and time to understand your schedule. The doors open at 7:35am. You will NOT need a Chromebook, so please leave that at home. Students can bring their bookbags and minimal materials, lockers will not be provided.
- Enter in your grade level door: T (7:35-7:55)
- 6th grade: GREEN DAY STUDENTS- Enter the building and report to your IE classroom
- 6th grade: WHITE DAY STUDENT- Grab your nametag in the cafeteria and report to the auditorium.
- If you are eating breakfast, report to the cafeteria, purchase your food, eat and get to your location by 7:55
We are looking forward to seeing everyone on Monday! Wear your green and white as it is an SMS Spirit Day for our 6th graders and staff!
TUESDAY - 9/22/2020 - 6th, 7th & 8th Grade- WHITE GROUP First Day at SMS
Below are some reminders about the first day back, in Blended Learning.
- You must wear a mask at all times when on the SMS campus.
- 7th Graders will arrive and enter through Door S; and go straight up the stairs to report your pod.
- 8th Graders will arrive through the Main front doors; You will move through the cafeteria, and walk through the Admirals/Captains Pod to the far stairs, up to the 3rd floor, to your pod.
- 6th Graders will arrive through Door T; move through the Voyager hallway and go to your first period class listed on your schedule.
- Remember your Chromebook and make sure that it is fully charged daily.
- Keep all your supplies in your backpack; limit the items that you bring to school as you will be carrying your backpack throughout the school day.

Green and White Clarification
All-In Learning Green and White Days: The term Green and White refers to the classes your students will attend on each of those days. Some students have alternating schedules with different classes on each day. This term refers to those schedules.

Parents should use this as a way to follow up on student's Remote 2.0 weekly calendar and help them remain organized and on track with all of their classes and assignments.

XC - SMS Cross Country Team News
The Boys and Girls CC teams got off to a strong start battling Olmsted Fall and Median Claggett. The boys team defeated both Olmsted and Median while the girls defeated Olmsted but dropped a close contest with Medina. The teams return to action this week taking on Brunswick and Parma.
The boys and girls cc teams had a season best week with virtually every runner clocking season best times. The boys went 1-1 this week defeating Parma and losing to Brunswick. The girls went 2-0 defeating both teams.
