Dear Bee Cave Elementary School Parents,
We had an AMAZING first week and we hope you did too!
I wanted to send a quick communication regarding our School Dismissal Manager (SDM) and welcome you to it! You should have received an email Friday from School Dismissal Manager with log-in information. Using School Dismissal Manager from your desktop or smartphone browser, you can quickly and easily update instructions when your child's dismissal information needs to be changed. School Dismissal Manager notifies the school of your updates. Effective tomorrow, Monday, August 19, 2019, please do not phone the school, send notes, or send an email to inform the school of dismissal changes. School Dismissal Manager will provide us with a more organized and efficient tracking system for afternoon dismissals.
A default has not been set/assigned for your child. In order to set a default, please log into the School Dismissal Manager (SDM) using a desktop computer and click on the "Parent Preferences" menu option. Default choices may include, but are not limited to: Bus, *Car Rider, Parent Pickup, or Extended Care. After a default is set using a desktop computer, subsequent changes can be made from a mobile device thereafter.
At any time, you can find the School Dismissal Manager on this website. Once you log in, please check your child's mode of transportation and make sure it is listed correctly. If not, click ''Parent Preferences" to make changes. If you have technical issues, please contact hamiltonl@ltisdschools.org and we will make the change for you.
When creating an exception for the current day, please note that the cut-off time is 1:45 PM on regular days and 10:45 AM on early release days. After the cut-off time, we are unable to make transportation changes.
Getting started:
New parents have been issued a username and temporary password. Returning parents can use their existing parent login credentials. Please log in to SDM at www.schooldismissalmanager.com.
The Parent Login area is found at the top right of the SDM homepage.
When you log in for the first time, you will be required to change your password immediately.
Please refer to the Parent Guide for Creating Exceptions for details on how to use the system.
As you begin to use School Dismissal Manager, if you have questions, please check the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) link found in the Parent login area at the top of the SDM homepage. Here, you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions. If your question remains unanswered after checking here, please contact the school office and we will be happy to assist you further.
When you start to receive the email notifications of changes or cancellations that are made for your child, please keep in mind that hitting Reply or Reply All on those emails does not reply to the school. If you need to respond to a notification (i.e. to inform the school that it is incorrect, provide additional details, etc.) please call the school directly and talk with someone in the office.
Do not use the Recurring Dismissal feature to put in your child's ''default'' dismissal.
Each school day, School Dismissal Manager will send a comprehensive dismissal report to the school and teachers immediately following the cut-off time, allowing administrators and staff to facilitate a smooth dismissal.
Thank you for using this tool to help us keep the dismissal process safe and orderly for all our students. Please contact our office if you have any questions or concerns.
Sincerely,
Ms. Kimberly Kellner
Principal, BCE
* You can obtain a Car Rider Tag by contacting BCE Assistant Principal, Ashley Nauta, nautaa@ltisdschools.org
Other helpful school arrival and dismissal information ...
Morning Arrival and Afternoon Pick-Up Reminders for Car Riders
There are TWO morning and afternoon arrival/pick up locations:
MORNING
1. Front "Park & Walk In" - Only for parents to park and walk student into front lobby.
2. Side Drop off "Car Rider Line" (side gym door) - Only for students that can get out of car independently.
AFTERNOON
1. Front Park and Pick up at/in front door by Gym (go to the black gate) - Have ID (new parents)/parent pick up card (returning parents) with QR code ready. Information on Parent Pick Up cards for new parents will be sent out soon.
2. Side Car Rider Line - Have your car tag hanging in the window. If you do not have one please have a not of your child's name in the front window until you obtain one. Please contact the Assistant Principal, Ashley Nauta, nautaa@ltisdschools.org. to get a tag.
Staff supervise both areas. If you would like to help your child with his/her backpack and give hugs in the mornings, we ask that you park in the front and walk your child in rather than use the side "Car Rider Line" where parents should stay in cars, so we can keep the line moving.
Thank you for your help in ensuring morning arrival and dismissal are as safe and efficient as possible. We appreciate you!
Bus Transportation Information:
Busing is offered daily in the morning and afternoon to Bee Cave Elementary for the 2019-20 school year. For more information, call Transportation at (512) 533-6070. Bus routes and estimated morning pick-up times can be found on the district website.
Students currently enrolled for transportation services have been provided with a SMART tag ID badge. Bus riders will receive their SMART tag ID badge in their homeroom on the first day of school. Please note, a SMART tag ID badge is required each time your child enters and exits the bus. However, rest assured, our drivers will not deny any student transportation services if the student does not have his/her badge present at boarding time. Information on how to obtain a replacement badge is detailed in our 'Frequently Asked Questions' posted under the 'SMART tag' section on the district’s transportation site.
The SMART tag system also offers parents a bus tracking feature through a secure Parent Portal. Parents can register to receive ‘SMART Alert’ text messages notifying them their child is 10-15 minutes from his/her bus stop. The portal may be accessed from any device with a web browser. Parents can also add or remove guardians authorized to pick up their child at school through the Parent Portal.
Parents or a designee must be at the bus stop to receive K thru 2nd grade students. If no one is there to receive the student, the student will be returned to the campus. It is the responsibility of the parent to see that the students who are returned to the school are picked up. Students returned more than three times a semester will have their riding privileges suspended.
We know you will have questions about the SMART tag system. Should you have any questions or concerns about the SMART tag system not addressed on our website, please contact the Lake Travis ISD Transportation Department at 512-533-6070, or via email at davisr@ltisdschools.org.
Campus Visits:
When visiting BCE, you will be greeted by our wonderful front desk receptionist, Leanne Hamilton! When visiting campus, have the following items readily available:
· Driver's License or Identification Card
· Purpose of visit
· Length of visit
· Destination(s) on campus
Visitors, other than a student’s parent or legal guardian, must have the written permission of the parent or legal guardian before they will be allowed to visit a student at school. For the safety of those within the school and to avoid disruption of instructional time, all visitors must first report to the campus main office. All visitors must sign in using the district’s Raptor system. After checking in, visitors will be given a badge to wear throughout the duration of the visit. Badges must be worn visibly on the shirt. Badges should be returned to the office when the visitor signs out.
· Visitations must be limited to areas approved during check-in.
· School-age friends or relatives of district students may visit only at lunch times and with the parent of the LTISD student. Guests are not permitted to shadow LTISD students during the instructional day.
· All visitors are expected to demonstrate the highest standards of courtesy and conduct. Disruptive behavior will not be permitted.
