21 Sports ... 1 Team ... WE ARE HOBART!
Close up those umbrellas for now ... it's time for BricksCenter!
Baseball
Imagine what Coach Glover and our boys were thinking going into Saturday morning's game - we haven't played in a week ... practice has been limited ... and now we're going to take on probably the best team we've played all year. Not exactly an ideal situation, but then again, sometimes that's when the very best things can happen!
Unfortunately, the day belonged to the #1-ranked 59ers as they scored 5 unanswered runs in the top of the 1st and won 8-3. Silver lining? Our boys SHINED BRIGHT as the early 5-0 deficit didn't alter our approach or competitive fire and we MATCHED one of Indiana's best teams 3-3 for the final 6 innings of play! In a game that could've gotten ugly, the Brickies continued to BATTLE and shook hands with their chins up and some confidence that we truly can play with ANYONE around.
Senior night is scheduled for Monday against KV ... we've got 5 getting recognized - BE THERE!

Girls
The Lady Brickies were missing a few pieces to the puzzle on Thursday, but the girls who made the trip south represented well and did their best for PURPLE & GOLD! Lowell and KV both topped Hobart on the scoreboard, but our girls put in some WORK WORK WORK and came away with some really good performances despite the poor track conditions. Freshman Sydney Belk continues to shine in the distance events ... classmate Dominique Clemons can run anything from the 100 to the 400 ... and senior Elena Polizotto is having a STELLAR year in the pole vault!
Here are some results from Thursday:

Hobart was able to earn a split in Thursday's double-dual ... beating KV by a close margin, but falling to the Red Devils dropping our NCC record to 3-2 heading into Tuesday's conference championship meet. Some highlights this year continue to be senior Devante Clemons in both the 100 & 400, sophomore Riley Johnston in the pole vault and the distance duo of sophomore Bruce Leipart and junior Bryan Cherry ... with the sectional only a week and a half away - OUR BOYS WILL SHINE!

Girls Tennis
These girls are getting better and better ... gaining more and more confidence every time out. The Lady Brickies are defending sectional champions - looks like they might just be putting things together at the opportune time!

Softball
The IHSAA also revealed the sectional draw last weekend and the Lady Brickies are SMILING! Hobart drew Michigan City in the bye, which means we are already in the semifinals and a victory over the Lady Wolves would put our girls in the 'ship! I know, I know ... one game at a time. Still, this could be fun :)
