Meet Ms. Polk - Title I Teacher
Hello AMS Family! My name is Tara Polk and this is my 8th year at Alief Middle School! I teach Title I ELAR with my amazing partner and friend, Mrs. Sampson. I also coach cheerleading for our fabulous FIERCE leaders! Prior to this I was an In-Class Support Teacher and Instructional Aide for the Read 180 Program, as well as the Distinction Dance Team director here at AMS.
I was born and raised in Houston, TX and I am a PROUD product of Alief ISD. I received my great education from Rees Elementary, Albright Middle, and Elsik High School where I graduated in 2006. While attending Alief Schools I participated in a number of activities, but my heart always led me to dance and cheer. I’ve attended HCC and in December of 2012, I graduated from the University of Houston where I studied early childhood education and all level special education.
Don’t be alarmed if you see me dancing or rolling around on the ground in school hallways… I like to keep people entertained!
Meet Ms. Sampson - Title I Teacher
I am Kourtni; lover of life.
I am originally from Yazoo City, MS; gateway to the Mississippi Delta. It was here that my love for education was fostered and 10 years later, that love still exists. I received my bachelors from MS State University and masters from Jackson State University.
Not only am I an educator, but I am also a wife to R.J. and mother to Kori. My husband I have been married for two years. We love to travel and this upcoming year we will be adding another stamp to our passports.
When free time arises, which isn’t very often; I like to spend time with my family, friends, read books, attend church, and volunteer to different causes.
