CCA Celebrates Veterans Day
CCA Celebrated Veterans Day yesterday, Wednesday-November 9th, from 8:10-9am in the CCA Gym. Student Council students presented our Veterans Day program. Students in 4th-12th grades recited the American Creed, K4-5th Grade Music students sang "Thank you Soldier by Sharon Abbott," and the 6th-12th grade choir lead students in singing of the National Anthem. Keith Harmer, a United States Veteran was our guest speaker. His speech was about the sacrifice that military men and women make to serve and protect our freedom, and how we should thank our soldiers and welcome them home when we see them. Several veterans were in attendance and the program ended in a moment of silence while Taps played.

Upper School Leadership Conference.
On Friday, November 4th, 9th-12th grades went to MidAmerica Nazarene University to attend a student leadership conference. Many schools from both Kansas and Missouri attended the event. The main speaker was Ryan Lefebvre, the Royals’ broadcaster. He spoke about his struggle with depression and his journey to salvation. Between sessions, there were booths where one could view the university's classes. Lunch was provided for all attendees. Then before the next session, there were some games. It was a great learning experience and the students had a great time. –Kennedy Vaughn
