CHS Check Out Policy
CHS students will be allowed to check out with a parent/guardian note only. A parent/guardian phone number will need to be included on the checkout note for verification purposes.
***No phone call checkouts will be allowed because of safety concerns.
CHS is a closed campus and we strongly discourage students from checking out at lunch. This typically causes unnecessary tardies and classroom interruptions. If a student is checking out at lunch, a parent/guardian must physically come in and sign the student out and them back in from lunch.
Only a parent/guardian is allowed to drop lunch off for a student. If a parent/guardian is dropping off lunch for a student, there will be a table (outside the office) with a sharpie for the students name to be written on it. Students should know in advance that lunch is being dropped off to them.

SENIOR 2021 INFORMATION
Congratulations! As you begin your final year of high school, you have many things to plan and consider as you prepare not only for your graduation, but also for your future. This is one of the most exciting, and possibly one of the most stressful, times of your life.
We hope the information below will be useful as you begin your senior year.
SCHOLARSHIPS
As scholarships come into the counseling center, they are made available on the school website at cabotschools.org. Seniors need to check the website frequently for new scholarships as they are updated regularly. It is your responsibility to keep up with all deadlines and scholarship eligibility requirements. Scholarship applications submitted after the deadline are not considered by most colleges. Local scholarships are available usually beginning in December. Read the announcements daily!
Seniors can fill out the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) beginning October 1, 2020. Applicants will use 2019 income tax information to determine eligibility for financial aid. Go to fafsa.ed.gov for more information.
The YOUniversal Scholarship application will be available for seniors to apply for the Academic Challenge Scholarship on October 1, 2020. The Governor’s Scholarship and all other (ADHE) programs will be available on January 1, 2021. February 1, 2021, is the deadline for the Governor’s Scholarship Program. July 15, 2021, is the deadline for the AR Futures Grant. The deadline for all other ADHE programs is June 1, 2021, but the earlier you apply the better. You may go to scholarships.adhe.edu for more information.
If your parent is a military veteran, you may be eligible for money for college. See your counselor for more information.
There are many scholarship scams out there. DO NOT PAY MONEY FOR A SCHOLARSHIP SEARCH! You can search online at no cost. Ask your counselor if you get something in the mail that you are not sure about!
SOCIAL MEDIA - College admission counselors, scholarship committees, and even employers are looking at applicants’ social media pages! Make sure you do not post anything that might be considered inappropriate! It can cost you dearly! Also, it’s a good idea to have an appropriate e-mail account that you use for college and scholarship purposes.

You must stay in the class all year AND take the AP exam to receive weighted credit.
