Dear Mason Families,
Happy Sunday! Can you believe this is the last week of April?!?! They say April showers bring May flowers. My hope is that successful routines around learning are beginning to "bloom" in your home. I know, personally, I am learning a lot about my own children as learners. My learning is coming from conversations at the dinner table, reading a book aloud, long walks around the neighborhood and family games. I never would have thought I could learn so much by doing some of the "simple" things I should have been doing with my family all along. This is just a reminder for myself that true learning doesn't always come from a worksheet or a website. True learning is authentic, it is individualized and it transferred through a connection (this is why we stress the importance of relationships at Mason). As we begin rebuilding our economy and our world after this pandemic, I will do my best to try to hold on to some of the simple things that promote learning in my life.
Wishing you a great week,
Roy Bishop, Jr.
