The iLearnNYC Professional Development Offerings for Summer 2013 are posted!
iLearnNYC will provide per session rate to all teachers attending summer face-to-face sessions.
Please discuss SY2013-2014 iLearn goals with your principal and confirm which vendors s/he has selected.

**Please do read the notes at the top of each session page. Forward any requested documentation (OP-175, resume); or just bring them with you to the PD session.
(1.) Responsible for creating all iLearn courses in the Admin Console?
The Newly Enhanced Admin Console will be unveiled this summer! Be sure to sign up for one Admin Console session in August.
(2.) Will you be implementing course content from the Aventa or FLVS catalogs?
Since these two catalogs live on the iLearn platform, you will need to attend a vendor session (Aventa or FLVS) PLUS BOTH D2L sessions (D2L Basics Level 1 and D2L Assessments Level 2) to learn how to navigate and customize this content on the iLearnNYC platform.
(3.) Only implementing one or a select collection from among our other fourteen vendors?
Be sure to search all calendars for those particular vendor sessions!

SUMMER SCHOOL PROCEDURES
The last day to make iLearnNYC license purchases for Summer School 2013 isJune 30, 2013.
Information on the Summer School process is here. This information details Start Up, Enrollment, Course Creation and Course Management, and Important Dates.

As School Year 2012 draws to a close, there are some important steps to take to protect your students' work and course data.

iZone: iCamp
iZone summer camp is a 3-day, 2-night retreat for educators leading iZone work at their schools. iCamp is a non-traditional opportunity for learning, inspiration, and community building.
The days will include: team building activities, outdoor recreation, speakers, workshops, and social events. Accommodations (double room) & meals are included.
When: Monday, July 22, 2013 at 9:00 AM - Wednesday, July 24, 2013 at 2:00 PM (EDT)

iLearnNYC Mission/Vision:
Fordham High School for the Art vision for iLearn is to prepare our students for the 21st century global workplace by transforming our classes to student centered learning and promoting educational confidence.
Our iLearn program is designed move our instructional program with technology and real world experiences. Fordham is to ensure all students have multiple pathways to success in college and career. About 1/3 of the participating students are taking Advanced Placement courses, 1/3 are students with special needs and the other 1/3 are taking regent courses in a blended format.
Our goal is to continue to build a school culture where technology, academics, college and career preparation work synergistically to foster students who are creative, confident, and ready to compete for success. iLearn NYC supports us in our goals by helping us expand student access to technology and teachers implementing styles of blended learning to promote educational confidence in our students.
iLearn NYC School Goals:
1. Fully implement blended courses in all core content areas (Mathematics, Science, English, and History).
2. Continue the development of blended Advanced Placement courses that will prepare students to sit for AP exams in May 2013.
3. Provide students various levels in foreign language courses.

Blended Learning Model:
Credit Acceleration (Aventa and Compass)
Rotation and Flex Models are utilized at Fordham Arts. The majority of the teachers are using flex models, with the Assistant Principal using a combination of flex and rotation models in his AP Calculus course. English, Math and Social Studies all had at least 2 classes were using iLearn in the classroom with the Flex model.
Biggest Success:
Our biggest success at Fordham Arts is our expansion of our AP classes. We able to offer more rigorous and college ready courses to our students. Blended and student- centered classroom has increase student accountability. For example, our students using iLearn have formed a Facebook homework board, solely created by the students, to prepare themselves for AP exams. This is moving our students closer to 21st century workplace.
