A Message from Mr. Henry
I wanted to take a moment to say, "Thank you!" to the Marshfield Community. As many of you know, the last two years have been difficult for all of us. Schools have been no exception. As we have tried to navigate COVID-19 protocols, keep our students and staff safe, maintain a high level of instruction, care for our students, deal with daily issues that arise regularly, and balance the struggles of work and home. Today, we had several parents "shower" each building with doughnuts, assorted goodies, lunch, gifts, and cards of appreciation with the help of MANY area businesses. I can't express to you how grateful our school is for our supportive community. I am so thankful for the Marshfield community and I am so proud to be part of it. I am confident that we will have more hurdles ahead of us, but I am also confident that we will get through them all together as we focus our collective efforts on serving our students.
Marshfield Schools Showered With Love - Marshfield Mail

Even with the strain of societal pressures, COVID-19 and curriculum demands school faculty and staff endure, they always show up. Their passion and commitment to the students in their district outweighs all those factors and Marshfield local, Amanda Richardson, wanted to recognize that.
“I just know what they're going through because they shared their experiences and it's just so overwhelming,” explained Richardson. “Everybody's sick and the teachers are just having to go through so much extra… I just wanted people to have compassion and remember that these people are taking care of our kids, but most of them have their own kids, parents, brothers and sisters that are sick right now.”
Richardson has always been surrounded by educators, whether through family or friendships, so she knows the trials first-hand. Thus, Richardson took it upon herself to find a way to honor the staff and facility in Marshfield. Reaching out to friends on social media, Richardson’s idea quickly grew into something she could not have imagined and recruited a group of like-minded women along the way.
Lana K. Chapman, Tamara Parker, Wendi St. Phillips Hardin and Ashton Hohensee all united with Richardson to use their skills and resources to deliver an even bigger “thank you” to Marshfield faculty. The band of women plan to cater, decorate, deliver thank you cards and draw raffle prizes for faculty. Once Chapman, who has extensive event coordinating experience, jumped in, Richardson knew the event was going to take off.
“She (Lana) just really gave us direction and advice. It's just super exciting,” Richardson shared. “I think just about every place in town has given us stuff to donate. So, I don't even know if the central office can hold all the donations.”
The group has received donations from multiple businesses, churches and individuals such as Harter House Supermarket, Penny Pinchers and Prickly Cactus. Richardson believes they have enough items to raffle items at every school on an hourly basis.
Honensee, a Marshfield native, was one of the first to join Richardson’s efforts, but the Marshfield community was not far behind her.
“It is just amazing. The whole community has rallied behind us,” added Hohensee. “I thought we would drop off a few cards and maybe a snack or something, but it blew me away with all the outpour from the community that we've had. Marshfield is a really good community and I feel like when support is needed, they're usually pretty good about giving it. It's just so nice to see some positivity.”
For those interested in participating, join the “Crashing the Schools with love/gifts/support” Facebook event page. Richardson is inspired by the crashing support from her community.
“We didn’t know that by putting something like this out there so many people would ask to help or pitch in. It just really warms my heart to see that," said Richardson.

- Students will be allowed ONLY 3 permanent bus changes throughout the entire school year.
- Students may only be set up for TWO transportation addresses at any given time.
- Students may only travel to permanent addresses. There will be NO after school notes accepted for students traveling to addresses parents have not previously listed for their child. In the event that your student needs to travel to an occasional address already requested, you will either send a note to school with your child or call the building office.
It is hard to predict Missouri weather, but planning ahead can help parents and students manage its unpredictability. Taking a few moments to develop a plan for when school is dismissed early or canceled, especially with short notice, can help parents and students prepare for the dreaded (or beloved) snow day!

Webster third graders have been learning all about famous Missourians through an integrated unit that covers reading, writing, and social studies standards. To learn more about Missouri history third graders all chose a famous Missourian to focus on. During reading students are looking at biographies/autobiographies about their Missourian and learning how to pull out important information. Then students take that important information and put it into their own words to take notes to use in writing. This all culminates in an informational writing piece to teach others about their famous Missourian.
Early Childhood Center Update
The Early Childhood Center is moving along. The pre-engineered metal building for the classroom wing has been erected. The roof, exterior framing, and insulation for this area will soon be installed. The metal walls for the main entrance and office area will start going up. Masonry work on the tornado safe room/multipurpose room is complete, and installation of metal decking for the roof should be completed soon. Overall, progress continues to go smoothly, with some slowdowns due to inclement weather.
Visit the Marshfield ECC Project page on the district webpage to learn more. You’ll find videos, monthly progress reports, and a timeline of the expected progress through our planned opening in August of 2022.
