ELIE WIESEL

A Romanian-born American Jewish writer.

Elie was born in 1928 in sighet Transylvania which is now modern Romania. Deported at the age of 15. mother and younger sister perished and two older sisters that survived. he studied in paris and later became a journalist, also was internationally acclaimed memoir, night; translated in more then 30 languages.

presidential, medal of freedom, U.S congressional gold medal, national humanity medal, medal of liberty, grand-Croix, and nobel prize for peace.
