Attendance Matters
Attendance requirements for students in grades 9 - 12 are outlined in Policy 4400. Students may not exceed 10 absences in any of their classes. Students who exceed 10 absences must submit a written request to make up time missed in order to receive credit for the course. This has been communicated to students for several months. Even so, there were 154 students who missed more than 10 days in one or more of their classes last semester. When report cards come out on January 12th, if your child has a grade of FF, this means they have not made up the time they missed. As long as students passed the course, they may continue to make up time over the course of the next two months. Time must be made up outside of the school day. During January and February, time may be made up by staying after school from 2:50 PM - 4:15 PM on most Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays or Thursdays. The schedule for the week will be announced at the beginning of each week. Students must provide their own transportation. Questions can be directed to Mr. Jonathan Davis (students with last names A - L) or Mr. Keith Livesay (students with last name M - Z). Mr. Davis and Mr. Livesay can be reached by calling the front office at 704-461-4200.
Moments to Celebrate 🙌
Merry Mathmas
The halls were adorned with beautiful trees, wreaths and candy canes that all shared the same theme of mathematical equations. This was truly a special event at AHS. Students, families and friends all supported one another to create a beautiful display of mathematical knowledge with a holiday theme. Great job math students and AHS Math Department!
