No School - Winter Break

Message from the Principal

Westbrook Parents/Guardians,

We have now moved to a distance of 6 feet at lunch for all students. Students have done extremely well making this transition and we have seen the positive impact this has had on close contacts. We have had some COVID 19 cases over the last two weeks however because of the transition to 6 feet at lunch more students were able to stay in school! This is a huge milestone in an effort to keep our students safe and in school!

The weather has certainly made a change over the last two weeks. We are now seeing cooler temperatures throughout the day. Students will continue to go out for recess/mask breaks daily. Please make sure that all students come to school with appropriate winter gear. (Coats/jackets/hats/gloves etc.). If anyone is in need of any winter items please reach out to one of our school social workers, Melinda Prawer or Chrissy Crowe.

As we move into Thanksgiving I wanted to send a huge "THANK YOU" to all of our Westbrook families. It is such an honor and privilege to work in such a supportive community. The many positive notes and e-mails of thanks and appreciation to our staff shows just how great this community is! I wish everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving break!

Please note that if your student participates in our Learning Lab program there will NOT be Learning Labs next week. Learning Labs will resume again on 11/29/21.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Patrick

This year, CHARACTER COUNTS! will continue partnering with the local Hero Hustle Run that annually recognizes heroes.

This program brings holiday cheer to panda and gator families in need. Our Holiday Helper parent team -- Mary, Anne, Amy, Diana, and Rita -- are collecting funds until NOVEMBER 30. They'll purchase and distribute gift cards to our panda and gator families first thing in December so they have time to shop for gifts.

Every donation to this program helps spread cheer! Any donation amount welcome! Donate online or by check! Check out the levels of sponsorship on the flyer above, or, choose a custom donation amount. ALL DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!
