Hello Rabbit Creek Families!!
I was fortunate to receive information from our district family engagement specialist about some opportunities for families, which are shared below. The Anchorage School District is full of staff who are here to support all of us in our work together.
Thank you to all of you who have completed the Volunteer Application. We are very excited to see more and more of our families in the building in the coming days and weeks.
Have a great final week of September!
Ms. Peterson

Emergency Drill Practices
The remainder of our drills will be done next week with a fire drill that includes sounding our alarm on Monday, an earthquake drill, and the practicing of a lock down with a walk to our off campus rally point on Friday. Students will be walked through each drill over the intercom with a clear message that these are drills to practice how we would respond in an emergency. Families can learn more about our safety drills on the district's emergency response page.
Student Drop Off-out front only
We know that the car line is lengthy and goes back to DeArmoun-and beyond. It moves quickly if students have their backpacks ready to go for a fast grab before jumping out of the car on the building side of the car. Having a backpack on a lap might even speed the process a bit.
Safety is the key--thank you for your help!!!

From Our PE team....
PE has created a fun photo sharing bulletin board of activities students and staff have participated in over the summer.
We are hoping to promote fun physical activity by sharing photos of the summer.
These activities could be indoor or outdoor. These could include things like: hiking, kayaking, fishing, biking, team sports, individual sports, recreational games, etc.
Staff and students can bring your photos for the summer bulletin board to Mr. Nees or Mr. Pemble to display if you would like.

From your Rabbit Creek PTA
Hello Rabbit Creek Families,
Well, the temperatures are definitely a bit chiller in the mornings these days. It is so beautiful to see all of the leaves changing colors. Hopefully the rain stops soon:)
I wanted to give a big shout out to Mr. Pemble for organizing and with Jill Boyd who helped with the online registration, as well as other volunteers and PTA members who helped make the Running Club such a success! Thank you to the 200+ kids that participated. We had beautiful weather and fun tunes that kept the kids entertained while running. Congrats to Molly D-Amico and Taysom Weaver who were the winners!
Can you believe that the Jogathon is in 2 days–this Friday? Woo hoo. We hope that your kids have got pledges to run some laps on Friday. Please make sure to collect your pledge money and have it turned in by October 5th to receive your prizes. Thank you to all of the many volunteers, Kelly Taylor-Lee and Heather Helzer our Jogathon VPs, and everyone for their hard work in this fundraising event!
Just as a reminder that school pictures with Lifetouch will be held next week on September 28th. School picture information went home last week. Class pictures will be occurring this year.
Memory books are now available for purchase. You can do so by visiting this website: https://ybpay.lifetouch.com/Order/SelectStudent?isAdvertisementOnly=False. The code for Rabbit Creek is: 13268823. The memory books are $20 each and parents can decide to personalize the book with their child’s school photo on the front, if they wish.
Save the date: Trunk or Treat will be held on October 28th in the Rabbit Creek parking lot. The event will be trick or treating along with an outside dance and picture area. More information to come in the upcoming weeks, but we know it will be tons of fun.
Thank you to everyone who ordered your RC spirit wear. The orders were placed and we should receive all of the merchandise within a few weeks.
If you haven’t joined PTA yet, please consider joining PTA through an individual ($10), family ($15) or business ($50) membership by visiting https://form.jotform.com/92304757793164 and completing our online form. The class with the most participation will receive a pizza party!
Thanks to everyone who attended the PTA meeting last week. We are hoping to meet many families and if you are able to join, our next meeting will be October 11th, 2022 at 7pm in the RC library. To stay up to date with current PTA issues and activities, refer to our PTA website www.rabbitcreekpta.org and our closed PTA Facebook group "Rabbit Creek Elementary PTA".
