SSD/Valley Park Monthly Dispatch
June 2022
Wellness Corner
We have many celebrations and highlights in this month's newsletter. However, I wanted to start with resharing the valuable resources that Dr. Keenan sent out recently. For me personally, it is very hard to process recent events in our world. While I feel like I have many coping skills to access, when tradegy happens, it never feels like enough. Below are just some tools to consider if you are looking for ways to help your child/student deal with trauma. And as always, please know our social workers and school counselors are also available for support.
Social-Emotional Learning Resources
SSD has compiled a list of book and web resources for families surrounding social-emotional learning and trauma-informed practices. Families can play a dual role in raising self-aware, respectful students who know how to manage their emotions, make responsible decisions, and resolve conflicts non-violently.
