The Common Core and Beyond...

Common Core Standards Workshop sponsored by Senate Bill 1

MSU and area high school language arts and mathematics faculty are invited to attend this one-day workshop. Participants will receive lunch and a $500 stipend. High School teachers may also earn Professional Development Credit.

The primary goal of the workshop will be to educate university faculty about how the Core Academic Standards are being taught at the high school level and how teachers are assessing whether students are learning these new standards.


Dr. Terry Holliday, Commissioner of KDE will be the guest speaker


Tuesday, July 23, 2013 from 9:00 am - 3:00 pm Third floor of the Curris Center

Registration begins at 8:30--Coffee and Pastries will be provided

The workshop is open to the first to register in each of the following groups:

  • the first 12 MSU language arts faculty
  • the first 12 high school language arts faculty
  • the first 12 MSU mathematics faculty
  • the first 12 high school mathematics faculty
