In Case You Haven't Heard...We Are Moving to Full In-Person On Thursday, October 8
We are excited to have all students back in the building, but with this change comes some procedural changes due to the need to safely social distance as much as possible. Below are some highlights.
*We will continue with supervised morning drop-off beginning at 8:25 A.M.
*Beginning Oct. 8, all elementary iPads will remain on school grounds unless a student is in quarantine, isolation, inclement weather days, or they are given a specific assignment to complete by their teacher.
*Seating charts in all areas of the building are required. This will aide in any contact tracing that needs to take place.
*Temperature checks will still occur at the start of the school day for ALL students and staff. We have a new temperature check machine that was donated to PRE that checks temperature by using a wrist reading, and we are utilizing it in the front of the building.
*Lunch—we will continue to be outside as much as possible, even in full-person. When inside, we will eat in the cafeteria. Tables will be labeled with numbers spaced six feet apart on the seats as well as classes assigned to particular rows.
*Snack Time—the best option is to eat outside, but the pod areas will be labeled with student numbers for teachers to use on a predetermined schedule.
*We will continue to utilize the outside for instruction as the weather continues to cooperate.
*Students still need to sit facing forward social distanced as much as possible.
*Specials—students will now travel to specials and bring their box of supplies. Specials classes will continue to be 50 minutes long to allow time for disinfecting in-between classes. Specials classes will continue to meet on a weekly basis, Wednesday-Tuesday.

Walk to School Day - Date Change!
Walk to School Day has been rescheduled to Wednesday, October 14th!
Students are encouraged to walk or bike to school. When they arrive to PRE they are greeted by the school mascot. Previous years they are given a snack as they enter the building. This year they will receive their snack at their classroom.
Repeated Information
Peace Month
Our theme this year is I Elect to Social Distance Myself from Bullying and Drugs!
What is Peace Month? We used to celebrate Anti-bullying week the first week of October, and red ribbon week the last week of October. Now we celebrate them all together. Our building leadership team decided to make it a month long celebration instead of one week.
When is Peace Month? October 5-October 31
What about Spirit Days? The spirit days will be on the four Wednesdays throughout the month of October. This way, the kids can all see each other on Zoom if we are in hybrid, or everyone will be at school if we are all in.
What activities will we do? We will not be doing our annual parade around the building this year. However, we will have a month long calendar with a different activity for kids to do each day. This is optional, but I hope the kids will participate! Mrs. Montgomery will be sending paper copies of the calendar home next week: B day kids will take them home Tuesday and A day kids will take them home on Friday.
How will kids know about this? Mrs. Montgomery uploaded a video briefly talking about Peace Month and the calendar on Schoolwork for all the kids to see.
Spooky PRE Volunteer Sign-up
The PRE PTO would love to have your participation at the Spooky PRE Drive-Thru Halloween Event!!! It will be held on Friday, October 30th from 5:30-7:30. We are looking for businesses, organizations, or families that would like to host a spot. You can dress up in costume, create a display, have a large inflatable Halloween decoration, or anything else that sparks your creativity. Please remember that this is a Spooky, not scary, Halloween event.
We are also looking for treat bag donations. These can be candy, trinkets, coupons for kids meals or ice cream, etc. We will even include your business cards!
