Thank you PTA and Breeze Hill Families/Community

Mrs. Cimino and I would like to express our gratitude towards our PTA and amazing families/community. You all truly showed your appreciation and support for our amazing staff at Breeze Hill. We all know that one week is not enough to celebrate all the hard work, dedication, and time that our staff puts in on a daily basis to support all of our students. Your gifts, letters, flowers, and more made every ones day. All of your support and appreciation exemplifies why Breeze Hill is the BEST SCHOOL IN THE UNIVERSE!

State Testing is Here for Grades 3-5!!

Every year, California students take several statewide tests. When combined with other measures such as grades, class work, and teacher observations, these tests give families and teachers a more complete picture of their child’s learning. You can use the results to identify where your child is doing well and where they might need more support.

Your child may be taking the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP). Breeze Hill will be starting the test on May 8th and going until May 26th. Below you will find some popular questions and answers related to this State Assessment. Please take time to read through it. Also, start discussing with your student about going to bed early, eating a good breakfast, and getting to school early or on-time. These will be critical in ensuring your child's success during the assessment.

Who takes these tests? Students in grades 3–8 and grade 11.

What is the test format? The Smarter Balanced assessments are computer-based.

Which standards are tested? The California Common Core State Standards.

CAASPP: California Science Test (CAST)

Who takes the test? Students take the CAST in grades 5 and 8 and once in high school, either in grade 10, 11, or 12.

What is the test format? The CAST is computer-based.

Which standards are tested? The California Next Generation Science Standards (CA NGSS).

School Site Council Member Needed for the 2023-2024 School Year

Parents and/or Guardians of Breeze Hill Students,

We are still looking for people to serve on our School Site Council for the upcoming school year. The term is either a one-year or two-year term. The task of the Council is to develop, monitor, and evaluate the school's Safety Plan, budget of Federal and State funds, and the Single Plan for Student Achievement. The meetings are held once a month for an hour.

If you are interested in nominating yourself, please email me your name and a 2 or 3 sentence writeup about who you are and why you would like to serve on the School Site Council. We will be taking nominations for the next few weeks. Thank you for participating.
