Springing Forward
If you are wondering why your child is asking for dollar bills or looking under the sofa cushion for loose change, we are in the midst of our fundraising for Bringing Hope Home. The letter distributed before break is also attached in case it did not make it home. You will be pleased to know that in our first week of fundraising at WTE, we raised $975 in three days! Way to Go Wildcats! Keep bringing in those donations to help reach our goal of $5,000! Click on the link below to order your Bringing Hope Home T-Shirt. Look for the options under “Store”.

Used Crayons Wanted
Please help GS Troop 41082 by donating used or unwanted crayons in support of The Crayon Initiative. The Crayon Initiative collects unwanted and used crayons that are donated from schools, homes, and restaurants throughout the country. They re-manufacture them and distribute to children's hospitals and art programs. Look for our donation bins throughout school beginning Tuesday, April 23rd.
One More Week of Testing!
ELA is almost done! All students, not just our test-takers, have been doing an excellent job. It is always positive to see how hard K-2 works on staying quiet in the halls in order to help us maintain a quality testing environment.
We extend our thanks to 3rd-5th grade families for their assistance in making the PSSAs go smoothly. Here are those same reminders for one more week:
Some additional tips:
- Attempt to keep your morning routines the same. This normalcy decreases stress.
- Avoid scheduling appointments on testing days unless an emergency. Students benefit from testing with their classmates.
- We begin testing first thing in the morning and know that students can get frazzled if they are late or "behind" others. If you typically drive your student to school, please aim to arrive around 8:50 or a little earlier. This allows the student extra time to unpack and get settled and helps set a positive tone.
- Keep cell phones, SMART watches, and other electronic devices at home.
- If your student is absent, we arrange for make-up testing. Reassure your student it is just fine.
