We have a lot be Thankful for in our Diamond R-IV Schools!

We have had a great fall so far!

Thanksgiving Break is next week and all of our schools and district buildings will be closed November 24-26th but we will have school on Monday and Tuesday November 22nd & 23rd. We hope everyone will take some time during this break to be thankful and grateful for all of your many blessings. This Tuesday our elementary students celebrated our 50th day of school and that means we have already completed one third of the school year. As we look forward to Thanksgiving next week and reflect on our first 50 days of our school year we have a lot to be thankful for. We are very thankful for all of our incredible students working so hard each day in our classrooms because our focus and priority is our students learning through quality teaching. Our staff, teachers, and administrators have worked hard this past year to implement several best practices in all our buildings to ensure a high level of learning is happening to combat the learning losses from the past two years of the Covid-19 pandemic. We have implemented "I Can" statements in every classroom so every day our students know exactly what the expectations are and how they are tied to the Missouri Standards. We are also doing student goal setting districtwide based on the "I Can" statements so our students can truly own and understand the what, why and how of the material they are learning. In order to know exactly what standards our students have mastered and which areas we need to reteach or provide interventions we are doing periodic benchmarking assessments as part of i-Ready Math and Reading programs.

As I walk through our schools and classrooms each day, I continue to be reminded that I am extremely blessed for the opportunity to be your superintendent and for the privilege, responsibility, and duty we have to provide a high education for our Diamond R-IV students. I am also in awe of our incredible teachers, administrators, and support staff who daily pour out their lives and work so hard each day to provide a high quality education for our students. We truly believe and have set goals with our CSIP/Strategic planning committee to fulfill our mission statement, vision statement, beliefs, and priorities.

Please continue to follow our Facebook pages, Twitter, and website (new and improved website will go live this weekend) for updates and information. Below you will see a few examples of the many great things going on in our district. We look forward to a continued great school year and to improving daily for each Diamond R-IV student and staff member to CONTINUE THE CHANGE!
