Percussion Jazz Concert

Our Percussion/Jazz Concert is May 24th at 7 pm in the DHS Auditorium. All percussionist, our color guard, and our jazz band will be performing at this concert. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased here. We will be taking cash at the door. Doors open at 6:30 pm. You will not want to miss this concert! Please click here for an opportunity to volunteer/donate for the reception after the concert.


All Wind Ensemble students need to report to the band hall at 6 pm on Wednesday to get dressed into tuxes and dresses for Graduation. Our best guess for parent pickup is 9:45 pm. We will tell students how long we anticipate graduation being after rehearsals on Wednesday. Students will be sent home with their tuxes/dresses to get dry cleaned.


Everything must be removed from all band lockers after graduation on Wednesday. We will be reassigning lockers for the 2022-2023 school year.

Click here for the band calendar for the 2022-2023 school year. We have added our August band camp rehearsals. This calendar is tentative until out Parent Meeting on June 2nd at 6:30 pm in the DHS Auditorium.

Please make sure to leave these dates open for marching contest next Fall.

Fees for 2022-2023

Below are links for a list of fees and required apparel for band and color guard for marching season for the 2022-2023 school year.


Color Guard

Band Registration

Band Registration is Saturday, June 4th and is required for all students participating in band or color guard during the 2022-2023 school year. We will be collecting fees and ordering uniform parts. South Texas Family Medicine will be at Band Registration on June 4th to give physicals. Physicals will be $25 through South Texas Family Medicine.

Here are times for registration.

8:30 - SLT Registration

9 am - Seniors and Juniors

10 am - Sophomores Last names A-L

11 am - Sophomores Last names M-Z

Noon - Lunch Break

1 pm - Incoming Freshmen Last names A-D

2 pm - Incoming Freshmen Last names E-M

3 pm - Incoming Freshmen Last names N-Z

School Owned Instruments

Students will be checked out a school owned instrument if needed at June Camp. The fee is $80 for the school year and will be paid at band registration on June 4th.


All students will need to have a physical completed after May 1st, 2022 to participate in Marching Band for the 2022-2023 school year. The Comal ISD Pre-Participation form music be used. You can find the form here. You can get your physical completed at Band Registration on June 4th for $25.


Students will be responsible for getting their tux and dress dry cleaned. Symphonic band students will be sent home with their tux/dress this week to get dry cleaned. Wind Ensemble students will need to get their tux/dress dry cleaned after graduation and turn them back in during June Camp, May 31-June 2.

UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest Update

The UIL Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest has been moved from UT to Hendrickson HS. Here are performance times.

Comal ISD is paying for the hotel rooms. Students will receive $20 per diem from the school district. We recommend students bring additional money for meals/snacks.

Students need to bring nice clothes to wear for their performance.

2 pm - Meet at DHS

2:30 pm - Leave for Austin

4 pm - Check in to hotel

5 pm - Go get dinner

7 pm - Back to hotel

10 pm - Everyone in their room

Saturday, May 28th

6:30 am - Breakfast

7 am - Check out from Hotel

7:15 am - Leave for Hendrickson HS

7:45 am - Arrive at Hendrickson HS

12:15 pm - Leave Hendrickson HS for DHS

*Get lunch on the way home

2:30 pm - Parent pickup at DHS
