Principal's Message
February 26, 2022
Dear Walnut Hills High School Families:
I hope that you have had a great week! As we look ahead to next week, I want to make certain that all juniors and their parents are aware that Tuesday, March 1, is the district-provided ACT test. All juniors will take the ACT, free-of-charge to them, during the school day while the other grades have regularly scheduled classes. In addition to getting a good night's sleep and eating a healthy breakfast, here are a few other reminders:
Make sure to bring:
A current photo ID
Sharpened #2 pencils with good erasers (no mechanical pencils)
ACT approved calculator – ACT Calculator Policy
Packed snack and lunch including a drink. Students will not be allowed to eat or drink during testing, but they will have breaks when they may snack. Lunch will likely fall AFTER our normal lunch bells. Only clear water (no coffee or sports drinks) may be out during testing. While a hot lunch will be available for students, it is recommended that they pack.
Students should plan to store phones, smart watches, fitbits, etc in their locker as well as their bookbag if possible. Juniors who are testing in the junior high gym should plan to enter through the outside doors. Students must arrive on-time in order to test, and a slightly earlier arrival will help facilitate check-in.
I also am excited to announce the kick-off of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council that was shared with all students in their Eaglette Flyer. Please take time to read through this PowerPoint for background information about this initiative that brings together all stakeholders. Diversity is a key component of a Walnut Hills High School education. We look forward to building on our long history of diversity, equity and inclusion to further enhance the experience for all of our students.
Finally, I want to shout-out the cast, crew and supporters of the Spongebob Musical on an outstanding and entertaining performance. The show featured the incredible dramatic, vocal and musical talents of our students. I could not be more proud of them!
Sincerely,
John Chambers
