Marking Period 4 - Feedback and Grading
Teachers will need to record student’s “participation and progress” in TAC for secondary courses in the 4th quarter. This means that if the student participated and made progress this week you will record a P in TAC. Remember, each course is designed to be self paced. Therefore, they do not need to meet a deadline or due date to receive a P. Our main job is to monitor our students participation and progress.
Teachers will only use TAC to record each student’s “participation and progress”
Please use one of the following marks each week during MP4. They are as follows:
P – Participated,
NP – Not Participated,
PCC – Packet Check-In Completed, and
NPCC – No Packet Check-In Completed.
A new mark has been included CC-Course Completed. Once a student completes a course put a CC in TAC. You do not need to continue to recording participation unless you are providing supplemental resources and the student is completing the additional work. The additional work cannot impact the students overall grade of Pass or Incomplete.
Final Mark Guidance
Final grades will be calculated by averaging the first three marking periods. This grade is considered the “floor” or the lowest grade a student could earn as a final grade.
For “participation and progress” in MP4, the student will receive one of the following “grades”:
“I” = the student did not participate in and/or submit assignment(s);
“P” = the student adequately participated in weekly assignments
Students Final Grade Mark will be computed by averaging the numerical percentage from each of the 1st three quarters (e.g, MP1; MP2; and MP3); MP4 does not hold any quantifiable value and is not calibrated into this Final Percentage.
May 19th - Seniors last day!!
“I” = the student did not participate in and/or submit assignment(s);
“P” = the student adequately participated in weekly assignments
GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS, CAP & GOWN
We have good news. We have been given the go-ahead to distribute graduation announcements, caps, and gowns to all those seniors that have ordered them. The distribution will take place in the Leonardtown High School bus loop on Tuesday, May 5th and Wednesday, May 6th. Due to the current restrictions and stay at home order related to COVID 19, we will be distributing these items in a very strict, organized fashion.

DAR- Daughters of the American Revolution
Staff, we need your assistance in nominating students for this award:
The DAR - Daughters of the American Revolution - is awarded to a student who from the graduating class, who by their personal acts, and attitudes have proven themselves the most outstanding citizen in the class. Qualifications are these four qualities: Honor, Service, Leadership, and Patriotism.
Please send Corinne Marino names of senior students who have those qualities. I will then follow up with a survey of a few names for voting.
