What is TEDxMileHigh?
TEDxMileHigh showcases innovative Coloradans who each give the ‘talk of their life’ around the power of ideas. Presenters include maverick thinkers and doers, big-time athletes, entrepreneurs and innovators, humanitarians, creative performers and many more extraordinary people. This diverse group of thought leaders and innovators educate, inspire and stimulate change with the ultimate goal being inspired action across our communities. To us, action includes the promotion and creation of ventures that will help shape the future. Our inaugural event, TEDxMileHigh: Inspired Citizenship, took place on April 7, 2011, at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House in downtown Denver. Since our debut, we've organized 15 events at world-class venues, throughout the Mile High City.Join the TEDxMileHigh Community!

The SENG Conference Experience
Most conferences about giftedness focus primarily on educational issues. While they may include a few presentations about the social and emotional development and needs of gifted people and the challenges facing the gifted population, these presentations play a minor role.
SENG conferences reverse the priorities. We believe that recognizing, understanding, and accepting the social and emotional needs of this population are the first priorities for teachers, parents, and counselors. SENG supports strong gifted education programs, but we believe the emotional piece is the foundation for the development of healthy, happy, well-adjusted, appropriately educated, and contributing gifted members of society.
The 2015 theme is SOAR with SENG and we hope you will join us in the beautiful Rocky Mountains of Denver to help us SOAR! Here is a sampling of the types of presentations you will find:
- Social-Emotional Needs/Overexcitabilities
- Gifted Adults/Gifted Elders Initiative
- Diversity
- Parenting/Families
- Counseling
- Twice Exceptional
- Home School
- Outliers Among Outliers

Children's Art School
The Childen's Art School is a resource for those families who want more
in depth individualized instruction than is available in the traditional school
setting. The Children's Art's JOY OF ART for spring Saturday classes
and summer week long camps is attached.
Our classes extended length and small size are developed to serve
interested and talented young artists. The classes provide instruction in
art methods and materials, while encouraging discovery and exploration
of the world. The courses stress developing creative thinking by engaging
students in the process of giving ideas form. Each series is related to an
art historical or culture context nurturing aesthetic literacy. The world
of nature and the works of master artists are our inspiration.
Many of our current programs were originally developed for the
University of Denver's community outreach gifted and talented series.
Our classes are always taught by State of Colorado licensed visual arts
teachers. SKETCHBOOKS IN SPRING and PAINT PALETTE BRUSHES
are two such DU programs. Most of our students are in gifted and
talented programs and many plan careers in art.
