Noble Gases
Group 18
What are Noble Gases and where can you find them?
Helium, Argon, Krypton, Neon, Xenon, and Radon make up the Noble Gases. They are found in Group 18 of the Periodic Table and they all have similar characteristics. They are typically highly nonreactive except when under extreme conditions. They are all odorless, colorless and have very low chemical reactivity. You can find these elements in the Earth's atmosphere as they occur naturally.
Helium
These balloons are filled with the Noble Gas, Helium which makes them float.
Periodic Table
This is where you could find the Noble Gases on the Periodic Table. In group 18, the purple group, holds Helium, Neon, Argon, Krypton, Xenon, and Radon.
Neon
This is an example of a neon lights that would not be possible without the Noble Gases.
Noble Gases
These Noble Gases are used in arc welding, gas tanks, light bulbs and to make colored neon lights.
