REMINDERS
Please invite any local businesses and representatives for this incredible evening.
We are laying the foundation for businesses to partner up with grade levels to nurture our community while our students gain real-world skills. “In Our Hands” is a kickstarter site to launch on March 19th. The site would strive to meet our students’ needs by matching local business and donor funding with school projects demonstrating innovation. We welcome community businesses to see what our students can do!
March 27th is our annual Sock Hop!
What songs would you like to add to our Playlist? Our students received a link to share their suggestions.

Sydnie Lowmax
The sounds of Los Angeles traffic lulled Tyler to sleep. On this night, while Tyler was sleeping, two little fairies named Hannah and her evil sister, Brandy, fluttered onto the windowsill.
“Noooo!” Hannah shouted, “ We are not going in that boy's room!”
“But . . . but . . . but . . .” Brandy responded. She lost her balance on the sill and exclaimed, “Ouch!”
“Are you ok?” Hannah whispered.
“No, I think my fairy wing is broken.” Brandy whimpered.
Tyler opened his eyes to find the two fairies helping each other onto his dresser.
Brandy giggled in her sinister way. Hannah said, “Welcome to the rest of your life, Tyler.”

"The Harp"
There once lived a dragon and a fairy. One day, the fairy dropped her magical harp on the dragon. When it fell, it got stuck on the dragon's neck. Every time the dragon breathed fire, the harp got so hot, its magical powers grew. The dragon lived with this harp on its neck until one magical day the dragon fought the fairy. The harp reappeared upon a rock in a river and they were still fighting. With one swish of her wings, the fairy turned the dragon into the harp. The fairy shouted, “When somebody strums you, the spell will break!” So, it waits.

5th Grade $1.00 Chocolate Bar Sale!
This year, we would love to share some of our school spirit with a eagle mascot costume! Think of the students' faces when they see our eagle attend our exciting events...
In order to do this, we will need to raise some money! We are selling sweetness with delicious, chocolate bars. Each $1 chocolate bar will have a code number for hundreds of valuable coupons and there are five, delectable flavors to choose from! Please sign the permission slip in your student's Tuesday folder. We ask that students avoid selling door-to-door as a safety precaution.
Meanwhile, in TweenTribune...
- We have been brainstorming about our local creeks
- We met with Brian Richter about water quality and conservation
- We have been watching the snow melt
- Meanwhile, California is suffering from lack of water
This is an opportune time to generate some dinnertime conversations about current events. Check out http://tweentribune.com
Our students turn to TweenTribune.com in reading class to enhance their academic vocabulary and engage in current, nonfiction events. All students should have their log in information, but it is not necessary to view the articles. Please feel free to contact your reading teacher if you do not have your log in and would like to log in to post a comment.
Math
Mrs. G.'s class was tasked this week with a "proud packet" to assess current math skills in measurement and earlier-in-the-year skills we acquired thus far. It is an opportunity for students to utilize their notes, Blackboard, and their resourceful minds to assess themselves. They will submit it on Friday for a test grade.
Writing
Do you know who Charles Martin Hall is? What about Johan Vaaler or Mary Anning?
Our writers can't wait to share facts about some lesser-known names who contributed to science and our everyday lives! You will be amazed to see who inspires us each day at our Community Night on Thursday from 5:30-7:30p.m.
