Greetings Westside Families! We hope you are making some wonderful summer memories together and staying cool in the heat. Our front office is back open and ready to support your needs this week.

With school starting next month, here are some notes to keep you informed and ready to start the upcoming year:

• Complete your registration by July 22nd and earn a FAST PASS for registration day on July 27th. See details below.
• Supply Lists for each grade level is attached to the end of this newsletter if you are getting a jump on back to school shopping.
• Save the Date: August 8th from 4p-6p is our "Meet the Teacher" event

State Assessment results were released last week, and we are extremely proud of our students and staff! Westside earned a school grade of a "B" for our performance, but was just 1% shy of an "A". Thank you to all families and parents who supported their students throughout the school year to help them succeed. You can access your child's personal FSA scores on their FOCUS account via your smartphone or the child's Launchpad account.

Westside is continuing to hire passionate, dedicated individuals for our 22-23 staff. Currently, we are in need of the following positions:

SAVE TIME....SKIP THE LINE by getting your FAST PASS today!

Stop by our office any time Monday-Friday between 7:30a-3:00p before July 22nd to finalize registration and receive a FAST PASS for Registration Day on July 27th! Please bring with you a valid Florida's Driver's License, and proof of residency such as a utility bill. You will be asked to complete a couple short forms including an updated Health Card for each of your children, so please block out 15-30 minutes when you arrive.

This FAST PASS will allow you to simply "drive through" our Registration Loop and pick up all your child's paperwork, teacher assignment, bus slips and more. Families who do not have a FAST PASS will be asked to park and come into the building to complete the process on that day.

Our BPS safety protocols require any adult on campus during school hours must be a registered volunteer. This includes helping in our classrooms, working with students, participating in our PTO and assisting with special events. We are looking to expand our volunteer program next year and will need as many wonderful and willing adults as possible to support the students and school.

Westside is looking to grow our community outreach for next year and hope you will be part of this wonderful expansion. Our vision is to enhance student achievement and real-world knowledge through our business partnerships. This could include reading with students, participating in a career presentation, conducting a hands-on learning lesson, starring in a video interview about your business and steps you took to achieve it, and much more.

We hope you will join us in taking Westside to the next level in 2022-2023!
