The Holiday Season
On Friday morning, we had our first whole school assembly to watch our choirs and bands perform for our Pirate Family. It was fun-filled and festive.
Come join us as we celebrate the season with our choirs on Tuesday evening at 7:00 as they perform at Mountain Top Community Church. It is a joy to see our students' growth in the arts.
Carpool Reminders
- When approaching the loading/drop-off areas for carpool, please stay off of your phone.
- We have special groups for events loading in the front of our 6th grade building. Please do not park and ask your child to meet you in the parking lot.
- Remember that our neighbors- in the businesses on one side of the school and in the neighborhood on Gentilly Drive on the other side of the school- do not want individuals parking in their lot or driveways.

Attendance Reminders
- A written excuse (which can be on paper or via email) is required within three days following an absence
- Doctor's excuses are preferred when applicable
- All students have ten pre-approved principal or parent absences. Pre-approval with the principal is helpful so students can get their work from teachers ahead of time when possible.
- Check-in & check-out procedures follow the same guidelines for excused absences
- If you have questions, you can find the district's attendance policy here or email Mary Watson, our registrar watsonme@vestavia.k12.al.us.
Swish You a Happy Holidays!
Wednesday afternoon is our first WHOLE SCHOOL PEP-RALLY, and we are so excited. We would love for students to participate in the festivities by wearing their holiday finest on Wednesday.
Following the pep-rally, all four basketball teams will be heading to the high school to play against Liberty Park. Come on out and join us as we cheer on our Pirates!
