Fall Neighborhood Clean Up

Join us Friday, October 4th for the Fall Neighborhood Clean-up! The event will take place from 1:30 - 4:30 and we will meet outside of the bookstore entrance to the Student Center (at 1:30)

This event is for students, faculty and staff.

The Chandler/May street area of our WSU neighborhood as well as the area behind campus that leads to Patch Pond will be the focus of the event.

Volunteers will receive T-shirts before and pizza at the conclusion of the event.

Trash bags, gloves, and trash pickers will be provided for all volunteers.

In addition to being an internationally renowned scholar of international relations, Dr. Minh is currently Rector (President) of the University of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Vietnam National University, Hanoi. This session is an excellent opportunity to understand contemporary Vietnam's relationship with neighbors and the world. SAVE THE DATE! Fresh Check Day, October 23, 2019

Join us for our 3rd Annual FRESH CHECK DAY! Wednesday October 23,2019 10am-1:30pm in the Student Center (1st floor). Ask your professors if you can get additional credit for attending!

Fresh Check Day delivers college mental health information to WSU students in a fun, expo-like atmosphere. This event is successful because it is a campus wide collaboration with the involvement of over 12 student organizations, 15 WSU departments, and many student volunteers!

Fresh Check Day (FCD) is held on college campuses throughout the country. Using a peer-to-peer messaging model, FCD utilizes student groups and staff to develop fun, interactive and engaging themed booths. Booth messaging reflects a comprehensive approach to suicide prevention, general college mental health, stigma reduction, and developing life coping skills.

Manhattan Short Film Festival on Campus

View and vote for your favorite entries in the 2019 Manhattan Short Film Festival. It will be on campus this Thursday (10/3), from 2:30-5, in ST 102, the Ghosh Lecture Hall. Screen 10 powerful short films selected from over 1200 entries at the same time that thousands of other film-lovers across the world join you. The event is free for students, faculty, and staff. Your votes for best film and best actor determine the winners.

Brought to Central Mass by Preservation Worcester and to campus by the School of Humanities & Social Sciences and the Department of Urban Studies.

Volunteer Opportunity Mentoring Students

The Assumption Center in Worcester as the Director of Youth Programs would like to share a volunteer opportunity at mentoring program that takes place at St. Peter's Catholic Church on Main Street.

The program pairs children ages 6-12 in one-to-one relationships with college student mentors. Mentors are volunteers who form caring relationships with the children and help with social skills, reading, homework, arts and crafts, games, and much more. Sessions are held every Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-4:45 p.m.

PEAS Conference Parking Notice

On Friday October 4th 2019, the Parking Garage (C) will be utilized for PEAS Conference event hosted by Worcester State University. Parking on floors two (2) through six (6) will be unavailable to all employees and commuter students. These spaces are reserved for attendees of the conference.
The Administration Lot (K) will have a section cordoned off as well for reserved parking. Please do not park in any spaces that have been taken offline.
During this time period, please park in any commuter lot on lower campus. Employees may park in the upper lots designated for employees, staff, etc. Please do not park in the reserved resident parking spaces.
