Winter Parties

PTO will be hosting Winter Parties for our students on Friday, December 21. These parties are for the students to enjoy some social time with each other. Due to limited space in the classrooms, each student may have a maximum of 2 guests at the party. No strollers please. It is a district policy that no school age children may visit during the school day. This includes homeschooled students, students that attend other districts, or high school students who are done with their semester exams. We will be sending out pre-registration forms for our Winter Parties that include the exact times of each party very soon. Please be on the lookout for this form to come home with your student after the Thanksgiving break.

Attendance Matters!

This holiday season, the best gift you can give your child is a good education. And the best place to get an education is in school. It’s tempting to extend your vacation by a few days, but remember, those days count as absences. Just a few missed days here and there, even if they’re excused absences, can add up to too much lost learning time. So make sure your child is in school every day, right up until vacation starts. Our teachers will be teaching, and our students will be learning.

Music News

Special thanks to the many volunteers who have been helping with our Fine Arts Initiatives these past few weeks—we couldn’t do it without you!

Our REDtrizity and REDtrizity Jr. Concert on the Towne Lake Boardwalk Stage has been rescheduled to Tuesday, Nov 27 from 6-6:45 pm. Techheadz and choir should report to the stage at 5:30 pm. Consider staying after the concert for lots of dining options for families.

If your student did not order a REDtrizity Choir shirt or a TechHeadz hat, please contact Mr. Stabe immediately to make arrangements for a single purchase.

Lunchroom Concerts -Our last two concerts of the year are both Christmas oriented Nov 28(standard show) and Dec 5 Blue Note Cafe. If your student has signed up be sure they contact Mr. Stabe immediately to set up final run-throughs. We still need a volunteer to help with our Nov 28 concert.

We are looking for anyone with footage of the Veterans Day presentation. Please contact Mr. Stabe if you can help!

GT Open Referral

It is that time of year for the Gifted and Talented Open‐Referral Period. This year the window falls between October 1 –November 30, 2018. The HORIZONS Open-Referral Period for GT testing applies to current Cypress-Fairbanks ISD students and to transfer students arriving after the close of FALL testing.

If you are interested in having your student tested for the GT program, the Parent Survey and Permission to Test form must be completed and returned by the deadline. Forms are available below and at the front desk.

Parents may also go on the CFISD website under the Horizons Gifted and Talented tab to find more information.
