Principal Angela Frankhouser visits RHE construction site
Principal Angela Frankhouser visited the site of Rough Hollow Elementary School on February 7. In this short video, Mrs. Frankhouser introduces herself and provides a quick orientation of the school's layout. Rough Hollow is the District's seventh elementary school and is scheduled to open this fall. The school's official logo and website will be unveiled soon. LTISD celebrates National School Counseling Week

From helping students cope with personal issues to assisting with college admission and financial aid applications, our LTISD counselors make unique contributions to the total educational program. To create awareness of their impact on education, LTISD joins the American School Counselors Association to celebrate February 3-7, 2020 as National School Counseling Week. Read more

Superintendent search in progress

The Lake Travis ISD Board of Trustees is in the process of selecting the district's next superintendent. Trustees voted January 22 to engage Thompson & Horton LLP as a consultant to assist the board with the superintendent selection process. LTE student competes at Spanish spelling bee

Irma Hernandez-Hernandez, a fifth-grade student at Lake Travis Elementary, represented Lake Travis ISD when she competed at the 2020 Spanish Spelling Bee February 11 in San Antonio. Read more

LTHS student earns 1st place at state swim meet

Lake Travis High School student-athlete Malia Rausch earned first place in the 500 meter freestyle in the UIL 6A state swim meet held February 14-15 at the Lee and Joe Jamail Texas Swimming Center. Malia also earned second place in the 200 meter Individual Medley (IM). For more individual and team meet results, visit the LTHS Swimming and Diving website.

LT FFA makes impressive showing, sale at 2020 Travis County Youth Show

Approximately 50 members from the Lake Travis FFA Chapter, and eight junior members, exhibited more than 150 projects during the 2020 Travis County Youth Show held January 16-18 at the Travis County Expo Center in Austin. Roughly half of the exhibitors “made sale” at the premium auction held January 24, earning an estimated $40,000. Students may use their earnings towards college tuition or to support their FFA project for next year. Read more

Students, staff attend Stop the Bleed training

Representatives from local health and emergency service organizations, including Lake Travis ISD trained staff and Travis County School Resource Officers, provided opportunities for students in grades 7-12 to take Stop the Bleed training Feb. 17. Read more

Students from Hudson Bend and Lake Travis middle schools have their vision of a better world currently on display at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center Lakeway as part of the annual Lake Travis Lions Club Peace Poster Contest. Read more

KXAN spotlights LTHS students in Girls Go CyberStart contest

KXAN News featured a group of amazing girls from Lake Travis High School as they prepare to take part in the Girls Go CyberStart nationwide cybersecurity competition. The activity challenges high school-aged girls to solve cybersecurity puzzles and promotes careers in a demanding industry.

District warns public of unapproved advertising solicitations

Lake Travis Independent School District officials urge local businesses to beware of companies claiming to sell advertisements or products on behalf of LTISD, our schools, and/or our athletic programs. In particular, representatives with Fort Worth-based Sports Media Advertising (also known as Touchdown Sports, TD Sports, Boost Sports Integrative Media, Signature Sports, Team Sports Media LLC) have solicited donations from multiple local businesses and represented to them that such donations will benefit our schools. However, the benefit to our schools was never received. Read more

LTHS cafeteria to host TxDOT public hearing on proposed RM 620 South improvements

The Texas Department of Transportation is conducting a public hearing to receive public comment on the Draft Environmental Assessment and its recommended Build Alternative for improving RM 620 from SH 71 to Hudson Bend Road February 20. LTISD will host the TxDOT public hearing at 5:30pm in the Lake Travis High School cafeteria. Visit the Tx DOT project page for more information.

City, county hiring crossing guards at LWE, WCHE

The City of Lakeway and Travis County are the lead hiring entities for crossing guards at Lakeway and West Cypress Hills elementary schools, respectively.


The pay for these part time positions is $15/hour with morning and afternoon shifts available. See flyers for more details. Apply directly with the City of Lakeway (Lakeway Elementary School) or Travis County (West Cypress Hills Elementary School).

LTEF Giving Campaign in full swing

The Lake Travis Education Foundation has kicked off its annual Giving Campaign within the Lake Travis community. Donors may give online, via mobile/text or by check/cash. Donations made at the level listed on the flyer receive the associated gift for that level and each subsequent level. Every dollar donated funds classroom grants and student scholarships in Lake Travis ISD. For more information, visit the LTEF website.
